Inspired and encouraged by enthusiastic support in the Republic of #Korea for the #UN75 initiative and reinvigoration of the @UN. And overjoyed to see my old boss, dear friend and wise mentor Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-Wha.

We must break the vicious circle that is propelling humankind & the natural world to the point of no return through the climate crisis. We can win this race. This year, all countries must show more #ClimateAction ambition on adaptation, mitigation & finance.

Together we must #SaveOurOcean from the warming, overfishing and pollution threatening our lives and livelihoods. I was pleased to meet with RISE UP, a coalition of scientists and civil society, pushing for bolder action to protect and restore our oceans.

I’m worried about male dominance in high-tech sectors, as we can see in Silicon Valley. If we don’t reverse this trend, all of our global efforts for gender equality will be undermined.

Scientists tell us that ocean temperatures are now rising at the equivalent of five Hiroshima bombs a second. We need to protect them from further abuse, and enable humankind to live in harmony with the oceans that sustain us.
