Former Ugandan leader General Idi Amin seen in the intensive care unit of the King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Jiddah, Saudi Arabia. Amin died Aug. 16, 2003, at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital. On being ultimately driven out of power by Tanzanian forces and Ugandan exiles, he slipped out of the country and surfaced in Libya. He thereafter got asylum in Saudi Arabia. He had lived for years in exile in Saudi Arabia and had been hospitalized on life-support since July 18,2003. He was in a coma suffering from high blood presure. Late hospital staff said he suffered kidney failure.
