Decided against jumping in on the investing round for this start-up in the end
I had shiny-new-toy syndrome lol
But luckily, I didn't piss off the C-suite cos they still wanna bring me on as an advisor in some capacity in the future
Fingers crossed that materialises cos I'd still get to build out my network with investors etc, without spending a dime of my own money
Seems like a win-win?
Just wouldn't benefit $-wise if they get bought out in like 5 years time, which I think is quite likely
My holdings in $IQE, $SOI, $AAOI etc. will remain 🫡

Today, it’s the unfairness of tariffs that are one-sided which amounts to market protectionism. If a country doesn’t want to trade with the US, then that’s ok and the tariffs won’t matter. The people who find it rude are the ones who have been taking advantage of the imbalance forever and now the gig is up. This reciprocal action is level-setting the imbalances. Also the first in wins and the last in doesn’t get in at all.

Being disparaging, demeaning, and pejorative about other countries is not going to help the United States.
Acting like a lame playground bully thinking the world revolves around you is extremely short-sighted.
People don’t want to do business with jerks who openly mock them in public.
This might work in small business deals in some parts of America where this is acceptable.
But this is beyond stupid when dealing with other cultures where this will be seen as extremely offensive and degrading.
