The IAF is currently involved with the DRDO Swift, a technology demonstrator for the larger 13-ton Ghatak UCAV. However, a UCAV spin-off may arrive well before Ghatak. Its specs include a 100–200 kg payload, 250 km range, and is powered by a 🇷🇺 NPO Saturn 36MT turbojet. 🇮🇳👑

Have long advocated for an evolved Kaveri-II. Don't get me wrong, the dry Kaveri is a nice step as well, but it is only one amongst many intermediate series of designs that need refinement and updating to keep in sync with peer engines such as the F404/414 family, EJ200 and M88.
@

#DRDO's Gas Turbine Research Establishment is currently working towards certification of the GTX-35VS Kaveri in its 82 kN thrust class. Following certification of this baseline variant, discussions are underway to develop an upgraded Kaveri 2.0 with 85 kN+ thrust.: DR Ganesan, GTRE
