We’re taking action to secure fuel now and into the future. By buying and storing more fuel, and finding ways to make more fuel here. This will protect Australians from future fuel shortages and help keep the country moving.

Just think how Sussan Ley is now she’s retired from politics. Elected before 2004, so is on old parliamentary pension scheme. Which means $250-300,000 per year for life. Cracking up laughing watching Angus Taylor drive the Liberal party into electoral oblivion. Starting with Ms Leys former seat of Farrer, which she held for 25 years. She definitely loves karma.

BREAKING: We're funding a Government-owned fuel reserve and securing 50 days of fuel supply. The federal Budget next week will include an Australian Fuel Security and Resilience package to protect our nation’s energy interests. As part of that package we are announcing we'll provide more than $10 billion to secure Australia’s near term fuel and fertiliser security, establish a permanent Government-owned Australian Fuel Security Reserve of around a billion litres, and lift the Minimum Stockholding Obligation by around 10 days for every type of fuel. This is all about securing more fuel for Australian motorists and industry and more fuel security for Australia’s economy.

Let's be crystal clear here. Geoff Wilson (Tim Wilson's Uncle) runs Wilson Asset Management. This is essentially an investment fund for wealthy old white boomers that has been structured to minimse their tax through CGT exemptions. He has a strong vested interest. #auspol

I have been busy since the CPI data for March was released. The actual facts make a total lie of the claims Sharma has made. Mean inflation, the key CPI indicator for the RBA, DID NOT CHANGE over the past twelve months. Believe the actual data, not the lies. #auspol

Japan is reactivating its nuclear sector, they won't be buying as much gas in future. Secondly, you left out the cost of Japan storing its excess gas. Thirdly more expensive gas will result in more importers switching to coal generation. It would've been more popular to just campaign for a reduction in beer excise if you cared about the punter. If you cared about fuel costs or the environment, you'd be promoting nuclear. Instead it just seems like propping up international gas prices. All across South East Asia, our buyers are buying less. And if we have enough for domestic needs, then storing more won't affect residential prices. Storing it costs money too. So at the most generous, this tax is a non starter, there won't be profits to tax, and will encourage importing nations to burn coal. Also an ACT senator pushing for a federal tax to raise revenue from other states is suspicious

@aaronsmith @swagman4020 @DaveSharma He won’t answer, but I would describe it as 4 years of constant low inflation, as it has generally been kept a lot lower than that 6.1%. With global factors as they are, I see that as exceptional. If the Opposition had any sense, they would not mention it.

Tim Mander & Amanda Camm were in an undeclared relationship for about 8 months. It won't bring down the Crisafulli government but given our horrible history we Queenslanders expect full integrity from all members of parliament. #qldpol theguardian.com/australia-news…
