More than 200 Tag Meir activists took part this morning in our Flower March through the Old City of Jerusalem. We distributed 3,600 flowers to the shopkeepers and residents of the Old City who suffer each year from the nationalist and inflammatory march that passes through their streets on Jerusalem Day. Activists entered the Old City through four gates: Jaffa Gate, the New Gate, Damascus Gate, and Herod’s Gate. Together with each flower, we handed out a leaflet in three languages explaining the purpose of the Flower March — that the nationalist and violent chants heard on this day do not represent Judaism or Israeli society, and that we cannot stand by while such acts are carried out in our name. It was painful to see that many businesses did not open at all today. We left flowers and flyers on their locked doors. With other merchants, we had time to speak and explain that we believe peace will come through respect for others and the promotion of shared society and coexistence. From time to time, groups of youths carrying flags passed through the alleys singing racist songs with shouting and provocation. Activists came from all across Israel, including the eldest of the Tag Meir activists, Hanania Globman, over ninety years old, who traveled from Tel Aviv by public transportation. Also joining were Gabriela, a 5th-grade student from Modi’in, Benjy, a 5th-grade student from Jerusalem, and our youngest participant, Hillel, a 1st-grade student. Respect to all of them. @KhalilJeries Arabs in IL have public shelters like any others, and are also obliged to build a safe room in new houses according to the law. The problem is many of them build illegal houses that are not in the standard. Alao, IL has no obligation to take care of Palestinians in the WB 🤷‍♀️

Four Palestinian women were killed by an Iranian missile in Hebron. Two points must be emphasized: A) Iranian missiles are fired indiscriminately at civilians in both Palestine and the Gulf. B) Apartheid Israel provides shelters and protection exclusively for Jewish Israelis.

I told @DBashIdeas at the time that it was obvious that Fruchter's questioning of the interviewees in the @18_forty series on Israel was slanted, biased, and unfair. Turns out there was a reason for this.

IRAN: Verified videos and credible information from eyewitnesses in Iran reveal mass unlawful killings committed on an unprecedented scale amidst an ongoing internet shutdown imposed by the authorities since 8 January to conceal their crimes. Security forces positioned on the streets and rooftops, including of residential buildings, mosques and police stations, have repeatedly fired rifles and shotguns loaded with metal pellets, targeting unarmed protesters frequently in their heads and torsos. Medical facilities are overwhelmed with the injured while distraught families have been searching for their missing loved ones among body bags near overflowing morgues and witnessed bodies piled up in pick-up trucks, freight containers or warehouses. Amnesty International has analysed dozens of videos and photographs pertaining to the protest crackdowns since 8 January from 10 cities in the provinces of Alborz, Gilan, Kermanshah, Razavi Khorasan, Sistan and Baluchestan and Tehran. The organization also consulted an independent pathologist regarding photographs and videos showing fatal or severe injuries. Human rights defenders and journalists outside Iran shared with Amnesty International screenshots of text or voice messages from 38 individuals in 16 cities across nine provinces in Iran. Additionally, the organization spoke to three informed sources in Iran, including a medical worker and two protesters, and 16 informed sources outside Iran including victims’ relatives, human rights defenders, journalists and an eyewitness who left Iran on 12 January. This new Nuremberg film is mediocre. The plot they chose to focus on isn’t that interesting, it’s basically just about Goering; the Allies are all depicted as mediocre except the British prosecutor and the warden; it basically glorifies Goering; it makes no attempt to distinguish the other Nazis and their role in the genocide; there’s no lesson here, except that the army psychologist is taken in and maybe a fraud or needed some help himself; You don’t really learn about Nuremberg or the Nazis much and you wonder how the Allies won the war if this was the men they sent ; there’s no hint these Nazis are very bad, they are all portrayed as imprisoned so they seem weak and defeated; and the victors bumbling mostly, or running after book deals. Yes, the Russell Crowe acting is superb; but a whole film can’t just be one person. C- film. 2 of 5 stars
