Convention on Migratory Species (CMS)
Panama has proposed including three thresher shark species (Pelagic thresher, the Bigeye thresher, and the Common thresher) on CMS Appendix I. 🦈 The pelagic thresher shark (𝘈𝘭𝘰𝘱𝘪𝘢𝘴 𝘱𝘦𝘭𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘤𝘶𝘴) is globally classified as Endangered, with a decreasing population trend. It moves between Central America and the Gulf of California. It is the smallest of the thresher sharks and females produce only two very large pups. Unsustainable target and bycatch fisheries, especially longlines and gillnets, are its principal threat, alongside pressure from the shark fin trade. Happy World Wildlife Day! This Water Rail is found at Hendre Lake. A great shot by our member Michael Field, capturing the water rails patterns. A beautiful bird that is found in reed beds in freshwater wetlands, making Hendre lakes and its reens the perfect habitat for them.

A woman I know found out her coworkers had a group chat without her. Not unusual. Happens all the time. What made it different was that she was the one training most of them. Helping with resumes. Covering shifts. Fixing mistakes quietly so no one got written up. She found out by accident when someone sent a screenshot to the wrong thread. Her name was in it. Not in a dramatic way. Just jokes. Eye rolls. “She tries too hard.” “Why does she act like the boss?” The next day she showed up the same. Smiled. Helped. Answered questions. But she stopped volunteering. Stopped staying late. Stopped reminding people about deadlines. Three months later the department was a mess. Management asked her why she wasn’t “stepping up” like before. She said, calmly, “I realized I was the only one who thought we were a team.” That’s it. No confrontation. No meltdown. Just withdrawal. And the wild part? People only notice your value when you stop giving it for free.

These 3 women have VERY important jobs within His Majesty’s Government. Their titles:- Home Secretary Minister for Safeguarding & Violence against Women and Girls. Minister for Victims & Violence against Women and Girls. ALL 3 Voted AGAINST a Rape Gang Inquiry!!!!! Not one of them have responded to letters I have written on behalf of The Pink Ladies movement. Not one of them have reached out to Rhiannon’s, Katies, Lily’s or Stephanies families and not one have publicly discussed or acknowledged the fact that the UK is now the Official Rape Capital of Europe!!! With some charities saying they are “Overwhelmed” by victims. Shabana Mahmood said in May 2025 there would be a “moment of reckoning” when asked about the thousands of British girls raped by mainly Pakistani rape gangs up and down this country… NOTHING! This is so so wrong.. and I’m sure that everyone reading this post will be as disgusted, furious outraged and frankly as devastated as I am by what this country has become!Absolute and total disgrace. GET LABOUR OUT !!!!!!!! @Keir_Starmer @ShabanaMahmood @jessphillips @AlexDaviesJones @pinkladies_uk @SarahForRuncorn

A fantastic turnout of local residents giving their time, and lots of energy, despite the rain to improve our Ancient Woodlands, Cath Cobb Woods. Thank you all. Paths are easier, safer to pass through & more light is now getting to the ground to help the native Wildflowers🌸🌼

We went back to Cemaes Park to finish clearing away the slippery mud and thick build up of mud from the football court. Hopefully the water can now drain away better and reduce the amount of mud that builds up on the court. It's much safer now for the children to play.

A British woman has won a landmark court case that is drawing global attention to the unintended consequences of LED street lighting. By presenting scientific and environmental evidence, she successfully demonstrated that certain LED street lamps were negatively affecting human health while also causing harm to local wildlife. The ruling ordered the removal of the lights, marking a rare legal acknowledgment of light pollution as a public health and ecological issue rather than a mere nuisance. The case highlighted how high-intensity LED lighting can disrupt human circadian rhythms by interfering with natural sleep cycles and melatonin production. Prolonged exposure to artificial blue-rich light at night has been linked to sleep disorders, stress, and metabolic disturbances. Beyond human health, the court examined evidence showing that LED street lamps disorient bats, insects, and birds, interfering with feeding, migration, and reproduction. Insects are particularly vulnerable, which creates cascading effects across entire ecosystems that rely on them. This ruling sets an important precedent by recognizing environmental light exposure as a factor worthy of legal protection. It reinforces the idea that technological progress must be balanced with biological and ecological considerations. While LED lighting is energy efficient, this case shows that design, intensity, and placement matter. The outcome encourages cities to rethink urban lighting strategies that protect human health and biodiversity while still meeting safety and infrastructure needs. #NutraFacts #fblifestyle #LightPollution #Wildlife #Health

Keir Starmer addressing Jeffrey Epstein's victims: "I am sorry, sorry for what was done to you, sorry that so many people with power failed you.” A bit rich coming from someone with power who has failed to find justice for the victims of the UK rape gangs.
