@DivaJain2 only chinese supporters will oppose to ANYTHING that will "help" India's battery CELL manufacturing. It is a brilliant idea if FTA benefits if India benefits.

This is why ASEAN FTA has to go NOW. JSW is planning to set up battery plant in SE Asia and use the FTA to import to India. If they dare to do it, files pertaining to Bhushan should be opened again. JSW behavior is consistently among the most appalling of all crony traders.

Met 17 of India’s most compelling startup founders earlier today, most of them building at the frontiers of deep tech. It was inspiring, but more than that, it was a reminder. The next India will not be built in silos. It will be built at the intersection of founders, infrastructure, capital, energy, logistics, AI, space and talent. Founders build companies. Ecosystems build nations. @regards_rishi @PawanKChandana @AkisEvangelidis @amangupta0303 @ankit_ideaForge @Shibam3 @Nirmit_Parikh @iPuneetGupta @abheshekbansal @prathammittal @AnkushNijhawan @ashutoshvalani @ashoknh @vardhanvaibhav @Ankurozana @pulkit_kh

1/ My three-volume history places the Indian subcontinent at the centre of world civilisation. On the question of continuity, it is the most impressive case on earth, and the one Western scholarship has most consistently underestimated. 2/ At Bhimbetka's 30,000-year-old paintings, a dancing deity with bangles and trident immediately recalls the dancing Shiva of today, as Michael Wood observed, and as I cite in my own work. A 14,000-year-old yoni stone near Allahabad was recognised on sight by local villagers. This demonstrates continuity. Therefore the seal is a middle chapter in the whole story. 3/ The argument that Indian sacred symbols require a Elamite or steppe source was constructed in the 19th century by Max Muller, who never visited India. He later called his 1,500 BC date for the Rig Veda 'merely hypothetical.' Subsequent historians copied the original date and ignored the retraction. Voltaire said 'everything has come to us from the banks of the Ganges.' He was wrong about most things but right about this.
Audrey Truschke@AudreyTruschke

This isn't Shiva. It's more likely adapted from proto-Elamite iconography, showing an Eurasian deity "lord of animals." Indian history is amazing, wonderful, and fantastic -- It's well worth getting it right.

China has hollowed out Indian manufacturing and is now set to do the same to rest of Asia. Greatest economic failure of GoI has been not recognizing this despite COVID/Galwan and more than doubling trade deficit with China in the last 12 years.

₹7,280 crore for rare earth permanent magnets. 5 factories. 6,000 tonnes/year target capacity. Bid deadline just extended to June 29. Sounds like India's finally cracking the magnet problem. Except — IREL will supply only 500 tonnes of raw material to these factories. 1 tonne of oxide makes roughly 3 tonnes of magnets. So IREL covers about 1,500 tonnes of output. Where do the other 4,500 tonnes of feedstock come from? Imports. From the same China that already supplies 72.8% of our RE magnets. I think the scheme design is solid. The manufacturing incentive makes sense. But we're building magnet factories without solving the upstream bottleneck first. It's like building car plants without a steel industry — you'll make magnets, just not Indian ones.

Those days we had this big IBM PC. To boot it, we needed to insert a 5 inch+ floppy disk. And in that (at least what I got access to) there will be only one program. Called Lotus 123. This program was like excel of those days. And inside it we used to play tic tac toe and four squares.

Students are genuinely aggrieved. Trying to blame and fight them to dismiss their concerns must stop. They are India's future. In fact, they are the ones bringing to light many issues in advance. It's not a joke answer papers are changed, testing doesn't work, sites are insecure, and exam papers are leaked. The first thing that came to my mind after the recent issues in CBSE, NEET, and NTA etc were those old days when we had scams after scams in exams. India can't let itself degrade back into that era. IT and cybersecurity can't be taken lightly. Top level accountability at Edu Min and humbleness in addressing the issues is needed.

@elonmusk will be only true to himself if : all AI models answer to user-prompts on one-to-one basis. Which means that for certain things if the model is proved wrong by ONE user, then the LLM does not correct itself ACROSS the platform for the entire world, if the same query is prompted by other users across the globe. Until that happens all AI are the same for me. BIASED.

This is Audrey's pinned tweet. It is hilariously ironic that Audrey quotes Nilakantha Dikshita’s Kalividambanam (Verse 1). She clearly missed the joke. Nilakantha was satirizing fake scholars who do not know their subjects. When he wrote 'Na boddhavyam, na sravyam... jhatiti prativaktavyam,' he was mocking charlatans who refuse to understand the subject, refuse to listen to opposing evidence & just scream immediate replies to look smart. If she had actually read the very next verse in Nilakantha’s text (Verse 2), she would have realized she was walking into a trap. Nilakantha goes on to list the 5 ways these fake scholars try to win an argument when they lack substance: असंभ्रमो विलज्जत्वम् अवज्ञा प्रतिवादिनि l हासो राज्ञः स्तवश्चेति पञ्चैते जयहेतवः ll Remaining unbothered, sheer shamelessness, showing utter contempt for the opponent, mocking them & praising the ruling powers (the King)... these 5 are their keys to victory. This is the exact operational playbook of modern ideological historians when cornered by hard evidence. Let me further quote the verse 3 also to get the full context: अश‍िक्ष‍ितेषु वक्तव्यं सभ्येषु महता कलिना l श‍िक्ष‍ितेषु तु वक्तव्यं मध्यस्थोऽयं विमत्सरः ll If the judge is uneducated, just shout loudly to win. If the judge is smart, immediately accuse him of being biased! Whenever an Indian scholar/community group exposes a factual error in her work using hard data, the response is rarely a factual counter-argument. Instead, she immediately claims she is being harassed/attacked by nationalists. She & others use institutional victimhood as a shield to completely avoid answering legitimate, evidence-based academic critiques.

For Washington, an ideal India would be one that: leases military bases to the US, purchases-35s, offers near unlimited military interoperability, rapidly retires Russian equipment, operates on GPS, refuses to build its own LLMs, spends next to nothing on indigenous R&D, buys American oil and LNG, cedes large parts of the North East to a sovereign Kuki-Zo state, restores Article 370, encourages immigration of Bangladeshis into the country, and allows unfettered access to foreign missionary groups. Wonder how many points on this list have been mentioned by the podcast guest.
Rishap Vats@VatsRishap

When Prof Raja Mohan was asked about India’s concerns/expectations of the US, he listed all US disappointments/grouses with India, invoking BRICS, multipolarity rhetoric etc. He thinks nobody notices that he’s found criticising the latter while staying entirely mum on the former.

I first got it as a hunch. Then I thought about it a lot. Now, I would like to state it: AI and tech leapfrogging by a few nations, is poised to cause colonization 2.0 - an era where other nations are digitally and strategically subordinated using the tech. Normalization of colonization by western tech bros, including Elon, too points to what they gonna do.
