Tomorrow many train companies saying only travel if absolutely necessary. Tfl say: “consider if your journey is necessary.” When systems fail (which they will in this heat) if fewer passengers a lot easier to deal with. Good luck.

@SW_Help Yes. But that doesn’t explain why the Mew Forest stops were arbitrarily cancelled when the train was still going through the NF to Bournemouth. Or does the timetable matter more than customers.

@keatingetom Hi, is that where you are travelling to? If you got off at Southampton which I'm assuming you did, and you are looking to travel to Ashurst New Forest, then the next service was the 20:28. Did you manage to board this? ^RC

@NicholasVinocur I fully agree. Perhaps de Wever would like to spend a couple of weeks in Kyiv and reflect on whether his actions to limit Ukraine’s access to critical funding are as principled as he seems to think they are. We criticise Orban, but de Wever’s (in)actions are next level…

The risk (being sued in a court, causing some measure of concern among other investors) must be measured against the risk of allowing Ukraine to be fully invaded, pillaged, spilling millions of refugees into Europe and threatening security. This is the real question

The issue is that freezing or repurposing sovereign assets is a violation of international law. Sure, the law is a fiction relative to hard reality of Ukraine. But we create a new order where foreign assets are ever safe. Bear in mind EU has more assets abroad than anyone else.
