@KeevGhost At that time, Japanese people greatly admired American and European culture, and the idea of doing something special on Christmas Day resonated with them.

In Japan when you give someone a gift, you’re supposed to say つまらないものですが (tsumaranai mono desu ga) — literally “this is a boring/worthless thing, but…” Even if you spent ¥5000 on fancy wagashi from a famous shop. It’s pure humility ritual. You downplay the gift to seem modest and not boastful. But it’s just the polite thing to say. The receiver responds with “とんでもないです” (not at all!) and everyone knows it’s actually a nice gift. Japanese gift-giving has a whole script and you just follow it. #JapanCulture #JapaneseEtiquette #LivingInJapan #GiftGiving #CulturalDifferences #Omiyage

If you’re seeing a bunch of Japanese posts, here are some fun facts: Japan has more daily active users and more time spent on X than any other country in the world. Over two thirds of the country is monthly active on X. X in Japan has one of the highest penetration rates of any social network in history.

I moved to Japan because I like Japan. If some communist reprobate moves to Japan because they like the idea of, "Communist Japan," they don't actually "love" Japan. If I wanted to move to a communist country I'd do so.

I've seen several people make this joke now. In essence, people are saying that the nerds who are actively targeting the United States government, while residing in Iran, will face no consequence from law enforcement and the threat of being bombed is negligible because the United States is already bombing Iran. This is a reminder that Barack Obama had a computer hacker nerd specifically targeted and hit with a drone strike because of the computer problems he was causing. His name was Junaid Hussain, a member of a group called "Team Poison". Google it if you're curious. The United States will 100% single out and drone strike a nerd if they cause enough problems.
