Cutting VAT on electricity bills is a Brexit bonus. This would have been illegal if we had stayed in the EU. Good to see Remainer PM Burnham making use of the freedoms the British people won for him.

Listening and watching media talking heads reacting to Andy Burnham's message of hope the overriding vibe is misery - our media is so bloody miserable right now, so negative, so destructive too. Half of them need a rest, frankly.

Newcastle United are intensifying their efforts to bolster their defensive ranks this summer, with reports emerging that Newcastle are interested in a move for Djed Spence, according to TEAMtalk and The Shields Gazette. With Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall currently lacking sufficient competition, strengthening the full-back positions has become a primary objective for the recruitment team and this therefore would make sense, but again it all comes down to valuation and this is where I can't see us doing this deal. If you have any desire for Bruno to stay I’d suggests you interact with him positively as opposed to calling him a cvnt! We all know how emotional he is! #nufc

Ever feel like you're watching a different sport? Morgan Rogers is a decent player but £117m?! I can't get my head around that. And upwardly mobile, brilliantly managed #avfc forced to sell him because of arbitrary UEFA financial rules that favour the chaos of #cfc, who have had several strategies, failed managers and finished 13 points and 6 places lower than them. How is anyone supposed to compete long-term when this is going on? The game at this level is broken

Just the 1,263 days until Newcastle are the world’s best. The exodus suggests not even #NUFC players believe that. Actions speak louder than words. Becoming the biggest club in world football is not something you announce - it is something you prove. shieldsgazette.com/sport/football…

Andy Burnham is as good a communicator as I've ever seen coming into Downing Street, so impressed with the comms configuration: He's not taking playbook from any British PM, he's trying to build a feeling of hope a la early Reagan, first term Clinton, both terms Obama - paint a happy future, raise peoples' souls. Purely in terms of the positioning it is outstanding. PS It could all go wrong quickly but this is always true.

One thing that not one person - whether that be fans, media or #NUFC hierarchy - can defend, is the snail's pace speed at which we conduct our transfer business. Why is it only us that spends weeks, sometimes months, on a particular target? Other teams wrap them up within days.

Newcastle United’s summer squad overhaul has dramatically reshaped the club's financial landscape. Following a massive wave of high-profile departures, the Magpies have successfully trimmed a staggering £35.1 million per year off their annual wage bill. That number could climb even higher. If club talisman and highest earner Bruno Guimaraes completes a rumored move to Arsenal, the total savings will hit £43.5 million. While the club always anticipated cashing in on a major asset this summer, the sheer scale of the current exodus has caught many fans by surprise. Unlike the established "Big Six," Newcastle operates under tight financial constraints. Despite being ranked the 17th-richest club in world football, their annual revenues of £335.3 million still lag far behind rivals like Tottenham (£565.3 million) and Manchester United. Because of this revenue gap, Newcastle cannot afford failed transfers; every signing needs to deliver instantly. However, PIF and the club's hierarchy view this massive clearing of the wage bill as a vital opportunity. Speaking on the club's financial positioning, David Hopkinson noted that while rivals have a formidable head start, the commercial and budgetary "headroom" now available presents a massive growth opportunity. To catch up, the Magpies will need to work smarter, operating with high conviction in the transfer windows to come. #NUFC #NUFCNews #Newcastle #EPL
