PROBIIRTHER - apparently empowering women to birth their babies is a negative? Here it is in my bio 🙌

In one corner: Pope Francis, who insists on a merciful Catholic Church open to everyone. In the other: a small but vocal minority that has set itself against the Francis & his reforms. My story for @CNN on the pope and the opposition he's faced: edition.cnn.com/2023/12/13/us/…

@GothicXRose90 Making up cute names for your vile views doesn’t make it legitimate. You’re the problem

It’s not so much abt being prolife or pro-choice anymore… antinatalists + promortalists are being actively silenced on social media for having views that r different from the life loving narrative. I can’t even say I want to die or wish I was aborted without being judged harshly

@KellyWhite0702 @MysticiCorporis @ianvanheusen I don’t doubt the effects of Reconciliation. I was correcting the mistaken notion that confession was absolutely required. It is not.

With all due respect, the idea that people are going for years without committing a mortal sin seems highly unlikely and I think the phrasing of the law assumes that you will at least commit one mortal sin in the span of a year. In all my time in ministry, the only people who go a year without committing mortal sins are maybe, and I will say a big maybe, are the elderly or those who have partially lost the use of their faculties. For people under the age of 70, I think at least every two months seems the threshold for how long someone goes without committing a mortal sin, and for someone under 40 a month… unless, they go to confession regularly and then a very small percentage are committing venial sins and are doing what is called a devotional confession. It saddens me to see Catholic websites that are promoting confusion. Some day I will recommend the Canon Lawyers and CDF clarify what seems to be a small loophole in the wording of the law… or to add a clause.

@NelwynToes @MysticiCorporis @ianvanheusen You know, Cindy, pride is a pretty serious sin. Just saying. Also, wouldn’t it be better to avail oneself of the sacrament of Confession more often than not? I’d rather err on that side than on the hill you’re willing to die. Yikes

A very sad truth about abortion is that a lot of women believe that having one helps them avoid motherhood. They think it’s a pass that gets them out of mothering a child (many people give no thought to the moral aspect or the fact that abortion is murder). In reality, abortion doesn’t help a woman escape motherhood. Abortion makes a woman a mother of a dead child. Life starts at conception, and every life that God places in a woman’s womb is a life He creates with a plan and a purpose. This is why abortion has major mental health side effects for women who receive them. No matter how much they choose to live in denial, we know that life starts in the womb. Abortion doesn’t empower women, it just slaughters children.

@ron_selgrath @ITGeekCT I find it odd that you refer to her priest as a “crackpot” but the “many” you allegedly talked to are a legitimate source of info. You obviously haven’t done any research of your own.

@ITGeekCT Sounds like a crockpot priest. I've seen it fine and not done. I've been told many there is no governing rubric in the Roman church. As someone wrote sagely above, other than busybodies who cares?

@KellyWhite0702 @Mikenike13590 @Rebecca47646878 @AbbyJohnson All I am saying is only the people directly involved know if they can handle parenthood with their life circumstances. We don’t walk in their shoes so we can’t possibly presume to know what the best decision is. I am glad it worked out for you.

@carita_paige @Mikenike13590 @Rebecca47646878 @AbbyJohnson So what about in my case where things were so bleak - living on welfare and wondering when the next eviction notice comes. Yet, 2 years later, the cloud moved on and we were more stable and I could breathe? Would the death of my child through abortion still have been worth it?

There is a big difference between being asked to raise a child that was conceived via cheating vs rape. If you don’t stand with your wife after she’s been raped, that’s trash. Asking her to choose between you or her child, trash. Acting like her rape was somehow “cheating” on you, trash. Bad take - take the L.

For real, pro lifers and their desire to shame men into raising children that aren’t theirs is crazy. Look at all the likes this gets. (Nothing personal @Prolife_Sam) This goes to show the difference between men and women. Women usually see no issue raising someone else’s child. Men typically do take issue. There are exceptions but I don’t fall into that category and I will die on this hill.

I truly don’t understand pro-choice or surrogate mothers. I can’t relate to choosing to kill or give away my child. What happened to their maternal instincts? Suppressed or never there?

@Sortaliber82248 @Advo_Katy Can we stop saying “putting baby up for adoption”? It’s a term used when people would put their kids up in order for groups of people to bid on them like livestock. all of these experts on adoption and not one of you thought to ask an adoptee or a birthmother their perspective.

Blocked on Instagram. The comment I would have left under Guy Bensons post. "Is it an "attack" to acknowledge that you purchased his genetic mother from a catalog and paid to intentionally sever his relationship with the only person this baby knew the moment he was born, possibly resulting in feelings of commodification experienced by other surrogate-born children? Does highlighting the mother-hunger that children raised by single or double dads experience constitute and "attack?" Does mentioning the identity struggles children conceived through sperm/egg donation = "attack?" These points aren't an attack. They are acknowledging what should be self evident to anyone, especially those who purport to be conservative."
