I shouldn't have to but I will : this is me and my papa in '87 In our pueblo of Sta Cruz de Miramar. Genetics are a dice roll, and light-skinned academics know it well. We DO benefit from problematic privilege in the academy, and MUST use it to amplify the work of "visible" POC.

I gave out “organic chemistry friendship bracelets” (ORGO, ACID, BASE) today to students who volunteered to solve problems on the board in class. Day 1 of this experiment was wildly successful. I had students already volunteering to answer questions in future classes.

!!! I have had serious problems from the very start with water getting into my vacuum pump after every single regen. And yes I’ve done (and bought) everything VAC told me to. IT WAS NEW. I’m stuck with a doorstop and will never recommend VAC again. They won’t come out, either!

Are you on the market for a glovebox? I bought a glovebox from Vac, and the moisture levels have not dropped below 4ppm after 4 months, many regenerations, and even a catalyst change. They won’t come out to fix the problem. 1/3

@doktor_clark They ALSO told me “the box doesn’t work like that, no way water is getting into your pump”!! Sir VAC, my Edwards is now full of what is essentially salad dressing! 😡

We have not used the glovebox. We don’t have chemicals in the box, we haven’t turned on the freezer. The water spikes for hours after purging, and water isn’t collected after regeneration. They don’t think this is relevant because their catalyst “doesn’t work like that” 2/3
