Nie ma czegoś takiego, jak "Polska A". To jest absurd. To się powinno nazywać ZABÓR NIEMIECKI. Tam gdzie były Niemcy dalej są Niemcy. NIGDY się nie spakowały. Zachodnia Polska nie jest bogatsza, bo jest „bardziej europejska" lub „bardziej pracowita". Jest bogatsza, bo przez 123 lata Niemcy budowali tam infrastrukturę dla siebie. Koleje, które miały transportować pruskie zboże i śląski węgiel do Berlina i Hamburga. Kanały, które miały obsługiwać pruski handel. Fabryki, które miały zasypywać rynki Rzeszy. Całe to dziedzictwo zostało po 1918 roku, po 1945 roku — nie jako dar dla Polaków, ale jako szkielet gospodarczy zaprojektowany pod inną państwowość, który Polska przypadkowo odziedziczyła razem z ziemią. Jednocześnie zabór rosyjski i austriacki miały odwrotną logikę. Rosja celowo hamowała rozwój Królestwa Kongresowego po powstaniach — jako politykę karną i jako strategię uzależnienia. Galicja była dla Habsburgów rezerwuarem taniej siły roboczej i poborowych, nie centrum inwestycji. Te regiony nie są biedniejsze, bo Polacy tam są mniej zdolni albo mniej pracowici. Są biedniejsze, bo przez te same 123 lata ktoś aktywnie nie budował, albo aktywnie niszczył. Ale powiązanie z Niemcami nie urwało się w 1945. Nawet w czasach PRL-u zachodnia Polska funkcjonowała w cieniu niemieckiej gospodarki — tyle że przez inne kanały. NRD była bezpośrednim sąsiadem i partnerem handlowym w ramach RWPG. Infrastruktura kolejowa i drogowa odziedziczona po Niemcach służyła teraz wymianie z niemieckim wschodem — ale logika przepływu towarów była podobna: zachodnia Polska jako region tranzytowy i produkcyjny obsługujący zachodni kierunek. Śląskie huty i kopalnie eksportowały węgiel i stal — część trafiała do NRD. Szczecin funkcjonował jako węzeł dla całego bloku, ale z geopolitycznym centrum grawitacji na zachód, nie na wschód. PRL próbował wyrwać zachodnie ziemie z ich naturalnej orbity gospodarczej i włączyć je w logikę radziecką — ale nie do końca mu się to udało. Infrastruktura miała swoje zdanie. A po 1989 roku Zachodnia Polska stała się pierwszą strefą niemieckiej ekspansji gospodarczej na Wschód nie dlatego, że była blisko, lecz dlatego, że była znajoma. Znajoma infrastruktura, znajoma sieć komunikacyjna, znajome układy przestrzenne miast. Niemieccy inwestorzy wchodzili na ten teren jak na własne podwórko, bo przez wieki było ich podwórkiem. Zakłady produkcyjne, centra logistyczne, sieci handlowe — rozmieszczone dokładnie wzdłuż dawnych pruskich korytarzy transportowych. Strefa przygraniczna między Odrą a mniej więcej Poznaniem funkcjonuje dziś jako faktyczne zaplecze gospodarki niemieckiej. Polacy jeżdżą do pracy do Niemiec i wracają spać do Polski. Niemieccy właściciele trzymają fabryki po polskiej stronie, bo koszty są niższe, ale łańcuchy dostaw biegną do Niemiec. Kapitał jest niemiecki, decyzje są podejmowane w Niemczech, zyski wracają do Niemiec. Polska dostaje miejsca pracy i podatki od pracowników — ale nie dostaje centrali, nie dostaje R&D, nie dostaje strategicznego zarządzania. To jest dokładnie ten sam model co w XIX wieku: zachodnia Polska jako region wykonawczy dla niemieckiej gospodarki, nie jako podmiot z własną logiką akumulacji. Do tego dochodzi rynek nieruchomości i ziemi. Przez lata po 1989 roku trwał w Polsce prawny zakaz sprzedaży ziemi cudzoziemcom — przedłużany właśnie dlatego, że presja ze strony zachodnich Niemiec była realna i stała. Kiedy zakaz wygasł, kapitał natychmiast ruszył. Niemieccy właściciele ziemscy na Dolnym Śląsku i Pomorzu Zachodnim — to nie jest zjawisko marginalne. To jest powrót do stanu sprzed 1945, tyle że przez prawo własności zamiast przez prawo aneksji. „Polska A i B" jako pojęcie wykonuje ideologiczną robotę: przenosi odpowiedzialność z historycznych aktorów państwowych na abstrakcyjne cechy kulturowe lub geograficzne regionów. To jest dokładnie ten rodzaj myślenia, który Niemcom jest na rękę.
