A cabal at the top appoints weaklings and yes-men to guaranteed seats. Any dissent results in immediate whip withdrawal. The councillors themselves are irrelevant. After the removal of the West Dulwich #LTN, drivers of all vehicles can again turn right into Dalmore Rd 😐 They cross a cycle lane and pedestrians crossing the t-junction. Sight lines are poor when congested, putting vulnerable road users at risk 😔 Bring back a bigger LTN💚

Whoever owns those bikes either don’t cycle or else owns multiple bikes and leaves spares chained up. It’s of no use to the community. They might even have been abandoned. The council should remove them by force.

There are two 80s racers attached to the parklet, Monday thru Sunday, morning, noon and night. It is being used for private storage. I have to lock up to the road sign.

@PhillTulse @LornaBlane @lambeth_council The parklet I’m most familiar with is Rattray Road. Nobody could argue that it isn’t an extension of his home. He comes out to anyone who sits there to “welcome” them, has it full of all manner of junk, it isn’t DDA compliant. It’s like sitting in his living room.

They don’t disappear during the day, nobody ever gets a chance. Except for whoever owns the bikes, there is no benefit to anyone.

@DulwichCleanAir This couple apparently has a personal gain from LTNs due to personal health reasons, so we can all sympathize & understand their position to an extent. However it goes to show that they are not impartial & are in fact favorably biased towards the schemes.

@PhillTulse @thetimes Phil, I don’t suppose you went to the Better Streets West Dulwich meeting on Sunday ? I know that “old” is quite a loaded term, BSWD are definitely experienced in life, white, wealthy, and skew towards males. Maybe young black women are too busy with kids or working to care.

@betterstreetswd are drivers campaigning for low traffic streets (for themselves). When asked if they’ll give up their cars they say they don’t have to. To me it’s like smokers campaigning for a low smoking street smoking in it because low smoking doesn’t equal non smoking 🤷‍♀️
