@LBofBromley Also interesting that Bromley, a Borough with no LTNs has a downward casualty trend since 2017 vs say LTN obsessed Hackney which is increasing.

#Spotthedifference Guess which school across from a park has no thru traffic, is in an LTN & has majority White Upper Middle Class intake. Guess which is on a now more polluted road sacrificed by @hackneycouncil & has a majority Black & Brown Working Class intake.

@LewishamCouncil @TfL The A20 pavement this morning 👇 Wonder if @sustrans will be locating one of their pollution-busting benches here so bus users and pedestrians can sit next to the rubbish, diesel freight and coaches and wave as the LTN’s nimbies pass by us in their 4x4s 🤔

@DavidHu05137188 @Keir_Starmer Yes, the same people driving cars responsible for C02, NO2 and PM2.5 transport emissions are lobbying MPs, councillors and City Hall to implement LTN schemes that relocate traffic & emissions from their affluent high car ownership roads onto community roads & bus routes. 👇🏾👇🏾

Those most responsible for C02, NO2 and PM2.5 transport emissions are lobbying MPs, councillors and City Hall to implement LTN schemes that relocate traffic & emissions from their high car ownership roads onto less affluent community roads & bus routes. 🌹Labour? @Keir_Starmer
Little Ninja UK@LittleNinjaUK

@ShimanoSteve @SocEnvJustice @climatemessages @Ed_Miliband @Heidi_Labour While Labour councils continue to make £millions from these traffic relocation schemes, it's unlikely Labour leadership will admit that LTNs are a false climate solution. This means real climate action will be further delayed. #ClimateFraud #ClimateCrisis #ClimateAnger

@lambeth_council not this again. Last year it was use old newspaper and store your left over turkey in the fridge. This year wrap presents in old maps or rags. The council wouldn’t be in such a dire mess if it simply focused on core services instead of putting out nonsense like this.

The question facing the High Court isn't just about traffic management — it's about what kind of city we want London to be. Do we want wealthier neighbourhoods with high car ownership to be protected from the traffic & pollution they create or do we want all children to walk to school and play outside safely, where elderly and people with disabilities can feel confident catching a bus and where local communities thrive? This matters because Tower Hamlets, where 66% of households don’t own a car, has London's highest rate of hit-and-runs and some of the UK's worst air pollution on it's busy community roads. Do we just want to accept the idea that all traffic belongs on the community roads and bus routes where poor people and people of colour suffer the consequences of more affluent people's lifestyle choices? The court case is also about how boroughs work with the Mayor of London. His vision for safer, cleaner streets depends on borough-wide co-operation. Increasing vehicle miles driven and traffic congestion is to knowingly increase toxic vehicle emissions bad for public & planet health. Removing unsuccessful schemes like this makes achieving his “Vision Zero” and climate targets possible and sets an example that could spread across London, reversing the injustices of covid LTNs and floating bus stops. We are supporting this fight because the people of Tower Hamlets deserve better than the rushed decision to impose the LTN schemes that demonstrably worsened lives. They voted to remove LTNs and having seen these schemes in action, we believe they represent social & environmental injustice for London as a city. Whatever the court decides, the evidence is clear: traffic relocation schemes widen the health equality gap. The future of London's streets must be shaped by lived experience and community needs, not the wishes of cycle lobby groups, bias research papers and short-term needs for councils to generate income from motorists. This must be the most dangerous place to catch your bus in London. Bus stop bypass H, Balham, Wandsworth. Two pedestrian injuries. One serious injury to an 87 year old male catching his bus and one slight injury to a 6 year old child alighting their bus.

The newly designed junction in Dulwich Village, meant to make it safer for pedestrians (!), will now require a fire engine to *mount* the pavement in 2 separate spots and avoid a tree to access. Beyond farcical. @mcash Lives are being put at risk for this incompetence.
