Therapy doesn't work because you're doing the very thing harming you in the first place: Ruminating on your trauma. Your focus creates your reality. Where attention goes, energy flows. Doing drugs does not help you recover from addiction. Eating more food does not help you lose weight. So continuously talking about your trauma does not help heal your trauma. You need to DO something about it.

@1stAndMeme @yoxics That first part is super untrue because your friends know you and aren't trained in guiding you through common thought patterns. If you had at least said self cognitive behavioral therapy it wouldve held more weight

Therapy ain't for everyone, especially if you're already self-aware and have solid homies to talk shit through with. But quitting after 2 sessions is wild First one's usually just intake, second is barely scratching the surface. Props for knowing what works for you tho — not forcing it is better than faking progress

@yoxics While I get the feeling that's not how therapy works. It's not a person you're paying to fix your problems. It's a person you're paying to work through your thoughts that doesn't know you and has experience and training in what works to process thoughts
