I agree with this. Those teams are so far ahead of us that it was always hope.
I don’t think it matters anymore though. It’s clear that up to 10 lads aren’t at the level to be playing for this club at a serious level. Add in a World Cup to some of them too!

I didn't understand how the Man City and PSG games were big for Slot because those two are way ahead of Liverpool right now, so surely results against Wolves, Spurs, Burnley and - coming up - Everton meant more. But this turned into a humiliation and will likely damage him.
