Eight years ago today, on September 2nd, 2016, I married the most incredible woman. Every day, I realize more just how lucky I am to walk this path with her. Nicole’s strength, intelligence, beauty, wisdom, and empathy continually amaze me. We may have different interests, but at our core, we are so alike. I’m beyond fortunate to have found a partner who shares my values and pushes me to grow. Nicole is an unstoppable force—courageous, steadfast, and always my greatest supporter. She doesn’t take no for an answer and never wilts under pressure. She’s my best friend, and I couldn’t love her more.

@KevinRappDC Appreciate the responses - do you not think it is feasible that they really can't deliver a large footprint grocer? If they cannot why is a 10,000 SF grocer a bad outcome?

@KevinRappDC the insane delays in this project caused by delay tactics from some neighbors and the general uncertainty around everything right now around new housing (costs, local economy/demand) it seems like it is reasonable to be open minded that this is a good faith request?

@KevinRappDC so it is odd the developer would not gleefully welcome a large floor plan retailer like a grocery store into this space so a bait and switch doesn't really make sense for them. Also there is nothing inherently wrong with a smaller grocer if it is a good vendor & given 2/

@KevinRappDC Sitting CM’s can and do get their staff to help collect signatures. The huge amount of signatures needed to run at-large is a disservice to the District. Phil has twice almost been defeated and probably would have been if it were easier to run.

I really appreciate the coverage and support you gave me throughout my candidacy. If anyone would like to understand the reasoning for the appeal please reach out.

Kevin Rapp filed an appeal today with the D.C. Court of Appeals, 3 days after @Vote4DC unanimously found that he was 1,036 valid signatures short of the 3,000 needed to attain ballot access as an Independent candidate for At-Large CM. And ballots begin being mailed out on 9/20…

Thanks for asking and yes, I’m a cofounder of Develop McMillan, which, despite its name, isn’t just about development. Our focus has largely included advocating for a 6-acre park, community center, playground, splash pads, historic preservation, and an amphitheater—key elements designed to benefit the community. As vice chair of the McMillan Advisory Group and the ANC representative for this area, I’ve dedicated a lot of time listening to both people in favor and against the development and advocating for it while also working with the general public, government agencies, and companies involved on all aspects of the project to give our best effort towards serving all community interests.

If you didn't collect enough valid signatures please own that mistake and learn from it instead of making Trump-like suggestions that all of DC's elections are essentially compromised.
