@LASHYBILLS Look at the video again, they walked in front of an oncoming car. the car would not have had a chance to stop. The car is one car length in front when they walked out to the road. You as a driver would have hit them too.

@ChShersh I'd given up on Pascal by this point. Modula 2 had been more my thing for a while, or maybe even Oberon.

If your Internet drops out for 5 minutes you freak out 90 million Iranians have had no Internet for TWENTY SEVEN DAYS DEMAND ACCESS NOW 🇮🇷🇮🇷🇮🇷🇮🇷🇮🇷
NetBlocks@netblocks

⚠️ Update: #Iran's digital blackout has entered its 27th day after 624 hours of isolation from the global internet with connectivity levels at ~1%. Rights monitors, independent media and the public are sidelined as access is granted only to those on a state-approved whitelist.

@Gypsypup13 No, but in the Scouts we had visits to police, ambulance and fire stations. Sliding down the pole was the best bit. Also got to see the bottling machines in action at the nearby United Dairies. All this was eclipsed when, as a student, we visited the steel rolling mill at Redcar.

Did anyone else town do this in the 80s and maybe the 90s. Our local police station used to have fun days where you could sit in a police car and be the bad guy and be put in the back. They'd lock you in a cell so you knew what the inside of 1 looks like.

@pr0ud_americans Were you on one of those special trains they run in order thwart train enthusiasts by getting between them and the Flying Scotsman as it passes their station? They've probably waited hours on a windswept platform for that one moment...

Check this out.😎 The legendary Flying Scotsman casually outpacing a modern local train. Built in the 1920s with those massive 6’8” driving wheels, she was the first steam loco to officially hit 100 mph back in 1934 — and she made it look easy. Still an absolute icon at 75 mph today. Pure British rail heritage. 🚂💨

@fesshole How did you determine ANPR can't read it? The thing about ANPR is you only know it got you if you don't pay the charge upfront as normal and then get a fine. This is a lie.

Some twat with a towbar reversed into my car. The only damage was to the front number plate. This has somehow stopped ANPR cams from reading it but it's still easily read by humans. A pain in car parks but I haven't paid a congestion charge since.

@Beckyckxy In the 80s the opening credits for BBC's Look North regional news programme had a graphic depicting the Mansfield turnoff on the M1. That is therefore the official southern border on The North.

Yep! This would sound strange to anyone who got into computing from the year 2000 onward, but we really did spend hours and hours typing in BASIC code from computer magazines. In my case, it was on my Commodore 64. Who else did this?
