@KamalGutale @khadarlooge Calling rejection “foreign-driven” is denial by a Mogadishu-centric elite that lacks national legitimacy. The decision was rejected by #Puntland and #Jubbaland and does not represent the Somali people. #Somaliland exists whether you accept it or not.

Attempts to discredit the Federal Government by echoing narratives pushed by external actors intent on fragmenting Somalia will not succeed. The statements you reference were not principled; they were issued under sustained political pressure from an external state actively working to undermine Somalia’s sovereignty. Efforts to instrumentalize regional voices to advance foreign agendas do not reflect the will of the Somali people.

In light of Puntland and Jubaland’s statements rejecting the irrational decisions of the weak administration in Mogadishu, it is clear that HSM does not represent Somalia—legally or practically. We will not allow his agenda to create animosity between Somaliland and Somalia. We call on Somalis to reject HSM’s insecurity-driven agenda after failing to establish even basic security between Halane and Villa Somalia, let alone Mogadishu at large.
