@TateTheTalisman @RicoVerhoeven @usykaa Easily continued? He was out on his feet stumbling towards his corner, I think the ref saved him from a beating, the fight was going 1 way after the knockdown

I personally had @RicoVerhoeven and @usykaa dead even going into the 12th. I don’t believe it was a justified stoppage and it was any man’s fight to win. We were all robbed of one of the most exciting rounds in boxing history. Rico could have easily continued.
Tristan Tate@TateTheTalisman

Huge huge respect to @RicoVerhoeven. 11 rounds with the best heavyweight boxer of our generation. He stepped into another man’s territory and made every kickboxing fan proud.

@rickyv_83 This first knockdown was Rico's third fight of the day. Those are the finals of the Glory Heavyweight Grand Prix.

Superficial damage cope. Rico Verhoeven’s face after getting clobbered at GLORY: Collision 3, before turning the fight around and knocking out Jamal Ben Saddik to defend his GLORY title for the tenth time.

Look at the state of Rico’s face, and now compare it to the smaller man. Let me make this simple for the casual observers out there - nearly all the most meaningful punches in this fight (particularly after the first few rounds) were landed by Usyk.

@Couldabeenrichh @26carlitoess Tenshin fought for the world title, and just beat Estrada to earn another world title shot. He's clearly at that level. And Yoshiki Takei, K-1 champion, did win a boxing world title recently.

@esrmuaythai @LiamBadco I think they just like pitting countries against each other. Every week you see some poor Chinese souls get sacrificed against Japanese kickboxers instead of matching them up against each other.

@JackMac @aocconnel23 @DovySimuMMA @pound4poundshow What 100th best fighter in the UFC is more known than Rodtang, Stamp or even someone like Reug Reug in Africa. There are plenty of marquee stars outside the UFC. RIZIN sold out the Tokyo Dome last year.

@aocconnel23 @DovySimuMMA @pound4poundshow You could be the 100th best fighter in the ufc and be more known than the #1 star of all of these orgs, outside of PFL. And it’s not like PFL is doing an unreal job “developing” fighters lol

@tobiasaguirre_ @joannadangerfd my favorite example of this is dustin jacoby last minute replacement in an american tournament held by glory without a single pro bout (or even amateur iirc) and proceeds to win the whole thing against legit competition for 20k and a contract

@caioblast @MchaelSNM1 y a quien le importa Glory? Alistar overeem se fue de la ufc siendo dominado por todo el mundo, se fue a Glory a pelear contra uno de los mejores de la historia y ganó fácil.

@BloodsportBE "Kento, Noiri, and Kaito are well-known examples." Nobody is talking about those fighters when talking pound-for-pound rankings. 70 kg has always been weak when it comes to Japanese competition. Where and who should fighters at 55 kg fight, if not in Japan?

@KickVideos Dutch fighters often compete internationally, Glory, has hosted events outside the Netherlands. Japanese fighters mostly stay in Japan, even if the best competition is abroad. And when they do fight outside, they often lose; Kento, Noiri, and Kaito are well-known examples

@BloodsportBE 95% of today's GLORY events are hosted in the Netherlands. Does that diminish the quality of the fighters winning in those events? Is a fighter better because he has to go to bordering countries like Belgium or Germany to compete? Of course not.
