Donald Trump votes by mail. But this week, he signed an Executive Order so you can’t. Why? Because he is scared of your power, and he is scared of losing the midterms.

I am saddened to hear of the passing of Araali Peter Banura, the Kikuube District Chairman. His death is a huge loss to Kikuube and Uganda at large. He was a young man deeply committed to leadership and service. As the pioneer LCV Chairperson of Kikuube, he was dedicated to the progress of the district and the wellbeing of its people. We have lost a very humble man who still had much life ahead of him. I convey my heartfelt condolences to his family, especially his father, Maj. Gen. Matayo Kyaligonza. May God comfort and strengthen them during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Araali. @MoLGUganda @raphaelMagyezi @UgEmbassyBuja @OPMUganda @Parliament_Ug @StateHouseUg

I also said in the same speech, which I made in parliament, that when sweeping stairs you start from the top. Figures of speech are not everyone’s cup of tea.

In a room full of politicians, silence is power. Greene’s 48 Laws of Power says: “Say less than necessary.” Words can trap you, but silence keeps control. The quiet observer often leaves with the most influence. #48LawsOfPower #Strategy

What we know about the suspect in the killings at Ggaba Early Childhood Day Care in Kampala: 👉The suspect is Christopher Okello Onyumu. 👉He had just returned from the United States, where he had lived for about 20 years. 👉He returned to Uganda in November 2025 and initially lived in Bunga, Kampala, at his parents’ home. 👉Christopher later relocated to his ancestral home in Nyoya to take up farming, before returning to Kampala a few days ago. 👉According to police, he had earlier been taken to the U.S. by his parents to live with his siblings. 👉He later expressed interest in returning to Uganda to do farming. 👉Before his parents could formally allow it, he reportedly sneaked back into the country without their knowledge and briefly stayed in an apartment in Bunga, allegedly funded by an embassy. 👉After some time, he visited his parents, who were shocked to see him back in Uganda. 👉He informed them of his plan to relocate to Nyoya for farming, and the following day, they drove him there, gave him land, and he began farming. 👉After some time in Nyoya, Christopher returned to Kampala and rented an apartment in Kyanja about two weeks ago. His move to the child centre: 👉He visited the daycare on Tuesday, inquiring about admission for a child. 👉On Thursday, he paid Shs180,000 via mobile money and also bought two large padlocks. 👉He later returned to the school pretending to complete the admission process, but instead carried out the attack. 👉He stabbed four children to death and is currently in police custody. 👉It has also been alleged that Christopher was involved in the killing of his stepbrother in 2017 under similar circumstances, though no arrest was made at the time. 👉Investigations are still ongoing. #CroozeFMNews

In deciding to sue scholar & activist, comrade @SpireJim – instead of looking inside & reforming – a small university called KIU just invited entire country to its doors. We will leave no stone unturned. Spire has led many exhibitions with stories from victims, observers & insider informers. Many under scrutiny – including powerful govt offices – the course has appreciation & introspection, and reform! One wonders what KIU thinks they are!

This is not a case against @SpireJim. It’s a case against the people he speaks for, against our right to voice our grievances and concerns. I love this solidarity 🥹 as some are taking on the impunity of the giraffe online, others are sharing evidence and others offering legal skills🙏

APAC: Santo Ojok, a reporter with @DailyMonitor newspaper, was picked up late Thursday night on alleged orders of Apac RDC Mr Andrew Onyuk and is currently detained at Apac Central Police Station. His detention has sparked serious concerns about press freedom and the space for independent media in Uganda. 🔗 Read Full Story Here: dailyexpress.co.ug/2026/04/04/mon… #ExpressUpdates @achekwech @SueNsibirwa @Sudhirntv

Before becoming the UPDF’s overall spokesperson, Lt. Col. Paddy Ankunda gained international recognition as the spokesperson for the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) during two deployments. He served as the primary source of information during the 2011–2012 offensive that pushed Al-Shabaab out of Mogadishu. Ankunda pioneered the use of social media, especially X (formerly Twitter), to deliver real-time updates on military operations, shifting the UPDF from delayed press releases to an immediate communication style. His 2013–2017 tenure as Defence Spokesperson marked his second major PR role, having earlier served in an acting capacity around 2011. During this period, he communicated key military operations, including the UPDF’s 2013 deployment to South Sudan, where he clarified the mission’s mandate. He also managed messaging during the 2015 Janaale base attack and the 2016 Rwenzururu clashes. Ankunda holds a Master’s degree in Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College.

It is becoming increasingly clear that the other camp is attempting to manufacture a false narrative out of political fear. The growing confidence around Hon. @norbertmao in the speakership race seems to have unsettled certain camp. Instead of engaging in fair and open competition, we are now witnessing calculated moves aimed at distraction and diversion. Using individuals from past contests to create unnecessary petitions and noise is not only dishonest it is a clear sign of insecurity. Ugandans deserve transparent leadership, not political games designed to block credible contenders. If the position of Speaker is truly about service, then let it be contested on merit, integrity, and vision not behind-the-scenes manipulation.
