Dermatology is wrong about the sun. And it's killing people. I'm a dermatologist. 226 publications. I should know. Avoiding the sun increases the risk of dying as much as being a smoker. We can fix it. For decades, dermatology's message has been simple: avoid the sun. Wear sunscreen. Seek shade. UV causes skin cancer. End of discussion. That message is incomplete and outdated. People are dying because of it. Lots of people. The evidence has gotten strong enough that the field needs to update it.🧵

1/ Amy Killen, MD’s sharpest lens: women’s aging doesn’t show up all at once. Some of the earliest shifts happen upstream—then echo outward into energy, recovery, body composition, cognition, skin, bone, and sexual health. One time discount at the end.

@KillenMd @AnthropicAI @DarioAmodei It's wise to treat AI results with skepticism. It's sad so many people would rather say 'Grok, is this true?', rather than think for themselves. 😢 Don't let your skepticism muscles get weak.

Thank you @AnthropicAI and @DarioAmodei for not bending to our insane administration and agreeing to use your AI in autonomous weapons and mass surveillance. As a physician at the intersection of technology and health, I care about privacy. As a human, I care about not letting AI pull a trigger when it still fabricates PubMed citations with a straight face. @OpenAI - I wish I could do more than just cancel my ChatGpt. You should be ashamed.

Are you worried that quality, body identical hormones are too expensive? What if I told you that you can potentially get all of your menopause hormones for less $20/month without insurance? 😍 Yeah, I'm talking low dose vaginal estradiol, systemic estradiol, progesterone and testosterone for less than $20. What?! Check out this week's Free Substack with the details. 👇 open.substack.com/pub/dramybkill…

Is FSH a useless lab or missing piece in menopause hormone users? A recent Korean study looked at a large group of postmenopausal women (not on hormones) who'd had amyloid PET scans. They found higher serum FSH levels were associated with worse cognitive function and more amyloid plaque (Wang et al, Front Aging Neurosci, 2026). This was observational but adds to a growing body of literature that points to FSH as not only acting as an indicator of end organ estrogen exposure but having its own negative effects on tissues like the bones, adipose and brain. This week's Substack explores this topic. open.substack.com/pub/dramybkill…

Wait. You're telling me that the Olympic ski jumpers who injected hyaluronic acid into their 🍆's did so to make them fly further? Not to look bigger in their skintight suits but to go further in the air? Do we think that the pole vaulter from 2024 was thinking the same thing but over-shot? Is there a J-shaped curve I should know about that describes the perfect amount of bulge needed to fly but not catch?

If we’re not all trying to escape death why do we spend $300B on the last 3 years of life? Only to buy a year or two in poor health? Could use that money for equinox memberships and organic food for all. Fair to criticize any individual, but has nothing to do with the global trend of confronting aging and death which is bigger than any one person.

Bryan Johnson and peter attia both being in the Epstein files makes so much sense to me because being obsessed with “longevity” is an endeavor that only can attract creeps. You’re obsessed with youth? And now you’re hanging out with JE? Of course you are.

Why would Attia's "fresh shipment" be in regards to metformin? Metformin is a readily available, generic, $9 drug. I'm confused.

@SiamXzy You clearly don't know anything about me. I very much enjoy the longevity field. I've been a part of it (under various names) for 13 years.

@KillenMd Second post in five minutes from an "MD" asking the same question. Must be a coordinated attack on Attia. I find it funny how the MDs are coming out in full force. You all must really hate the longevity work he was doing. MDs have always been the jealous type.

@odinslament That's exactly right. Metformin is like aspirin, except it requires a prescription.

@KillenMd Metformin was trendy as a longevity drug at the time and was not commonly prescribed off label this way.

@KnowledgeAcqui1 Sure. But it's still weird. Nobody needs to order shipments of metformin. Any pharmacy, anywhere in the world has it.

@KillenMd Attia could publish the original emails with images, so we are not forced to evaluate without context. If the lack of context is the problem, providing it is the solution, is it not? 🤔
