@TheJTShow2024 @JacksonForUtah A district entirely inside Salt Lake County is not being unfair. It’s a very normal district.

@JacksonForUtah Fair by who? The "people"? The Independent commission?

Cope harder fair maps are here to stay

@jbaxter8788 @JacksonForUtah A district entirely inside Salt Lake County is not a gerrymander.
English

@JacksonForUtah You had her remove her signature so judges can gerrymander it for democrats? Great job! Now people outside of utah will determine how to gerrymander it instead of the legislature who we vote for.
English

Also good to have helped, they lied to my sister (told her it was an anti-gerrymandering prop), who is a resident of the SD that just failed to qualify, I got her to remove her signature

#BREAKING: Utah Republicans petition to repeal independent redistricting and anti-gerrymandering protections has fallen below the signature threshold. The petition no longer has enough signatures to make the November ballot. deseret.com/politics/2026/…

@PAHouseGOP The gas tax was passed in 2013 when Republicans had a trifecta in PA

@sbauerAP @ChrisTaylorWI @JudgeMariaLazar There's no reason to do the debate. Their internals probably have Taylor with a huge lead. What's the incentive for her to debate?
English

Democratic-backed Wisconsin Supreme Court candidate @ChrisTaylorWI pulls out of the only scheduled debate with conservative challenger @JudgeMariaLazar hours before it was to take place tonight

@basedposadist1 @electionsjoe In other words, they can never be wrong.
English

@electionsjoe What do you think a 25% chance means, that it will never happen?
English

@basedseattle Registered Republicans turned out almost exactly the same as Registered Democrats in this election, the difference is that the Republican brand is toxic to independents and maybe a good chunk of Republicans!
English

Republicans who stay home are this party's Achilles heel.

@Apsalar77 @_fat_ugly_rat_ People in Texas, Missouri, and North Carolina never got any vote at all.
English

@_fat_ugly_rat_ VA voters decided by 67% in 2020 for a nonpartisan commission. Democrats are trying to take it back like tyrants.
English

Something to consider is that California and Virginia are leaving redistricting up to the voters but in Texas, Missouri, and North Carolina they drew up a map in a back room somewhere and just implemented it regardless of what the voters thought.

@CommentRando @4nsmiley The other Democrat wasn't going to drop out, Burbank has stated that she will.
English

@4nsmiley This is literally good for GOP lol,
Such a litmus test this whole thing has been
People not realizing that a GOP vs Ind vs DEM will literally not help Osborn or the DEMs at all
English

@dakplswin3 @Taniel What makes you think that?
English

Nebraska's GOP secretary of state tried to toss a Dem Senate candidate from the ballot, & a lower court judge let them do it last week.
But the state supreme court stepped in and has stopped this, restoring Cynthia Burbank to the ballot. nebraskapublicmedia.org/en/news/news-a…

@CookPolitical @CharlieCookDC Considering the new congressional map in Utah this seems completely impossible.
English

If Republican losses are confined to blue and purple states and districts in the midterms, they will limit the damage.

@smy1924 This will lead to a period (short term) of economic growth potential, similiar to what the US went through in the 90's.
English

@smy1924 In the short term Columbia will probably experience an "economic dividend" from it's population in the next ~10 years. It'll have both a low pop. of elderly and kids, and lots of working age adults.

@radioactivered Wrong!
And Nuclear is warming - so no we need to use solar/wind etc.
(Yeah hit me with the but, but, but… - I'll win)
English

Unlike nuclear which produces a small, highly contained waste stream that is tracked and stored safely for the long term, wind turbines create massive composite blades that currently have no widely adopted recycling solution. Most end up in landfills, taking up space for decades and while other parts like steel and copper can be recycled, the sheer volume of materials needed for turbines (especially for large wind farms) creates a significant environmental burden. Wind turbines can also pose a threat to wildlife like birds and bats that sometimes will collide with the spinning blades, leading to injury or death.
Nuclear waste is challenging but concentrated and engineered to be isolated, whereas wind turbine disposal is diffuse, growing and largely unsolved.
Also, smoke does NOT come from a cooling tower like that. Good morning, you’re already the radiophobe of the day, congrats.☢️

AP: Missouri judge strikes ballot summary for Trump-backed congressional redistricting plan
If Missouri voters get to decide whether to adopt new U.S. House districts backed by President Donald Trump, the ballot proposal presented to them won’t say a word about gerrymandering.
