@blasko_art Encounter design is where it falls down most I feel. It's balanced with co-op in mind, I guess devs didn't adjust for solo players, so you're constantly bombarded with tedious numbers of enemies by late game. It's got a lot of issues but i still think it's an alright game overall

@beepophobia Doing all the puzzles as Wesker and then carefully putting all the pieces in wacky places around the mansion so Jill has to spend ages on some bull shit

@milkbraining I'm getting real sick of seeing Orpheo Has on ppls pfp. He is NOT a good dude.
English

@TheDazeel I like when they don't warn me, like in Mass Effect 2. It feels more like a narrative that I exist within and have to feel my way around, rather than a me-pleasing machine built purely to satisfy my completionist impulse.

@TheIshikawaRin Larger map and better traversal, which is really the only thing noteworthy about either game anyways

I still have no idea how people can think Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2 is better than Spider-Man 2018, it’s like they didn’t even play the same game I did.
The sequel is the most disappointed I’ve ever been in a game outright, it has way too many glaring problems

Name one bad thing about this game

the best part of Bari Weiss is that she’s not even that much dumber than the average CEO. they’re all basically Like This

Scoops of ideas. Scoops of explanation.

@Gibboanxious And Hot Fuzz is NOT better than The World’s End.

@Dreamboum Certain missions specific to a given district, like the construction site bombing or busting the Southern Union trafficking, are novel but they feel inconsequential without the cinematic flourish of the main missions. Plus the locations then repeat when confronting racket bosses.
English

@Dreamboum The world is cool, the issue stems with context for the busywork. There are plenty interesting racket damage missions even outside of the great main missions, but they're kind of indistinguishable from the fluff cause even they're acquired and presented in the same flat, dull way

It's so tragic Mafia 3 is saddled with the worst open world known to man because the story is fire

@NigelShortbread @fesshole Sorry, imprecise wording. I had known then that he was a prick.

@KingBojoII @fesshole Him and just about every other human male and most of the women too. Hardly news.

@PeterP_1985 Yea closest I've ever felt to those wonderful empty uncharted worlds in ME1 was in Starfield.
I think it's not as interesting in setting or themes as ME, so the sense of mystery and overwhelming cosmic tininess isn't as strong, plus the repeated dungeons, but I enjoyed it still.
English

I disagree here.
Alongside gaming, space and the cosmos is another passion of mine and I love that in Starfield you have some populated locations, but then a lot of planets that are empty, and lifeless.
It made exploring feel like a space simulator in a sense, and I loved landing on a desolate world, exploring, maybe putting up a small base, and the feeling of complete solitude it brought.
Its an RPG and this helped me feel immersed as its a more accurate representation of space.
PS. I also liked the various planets you could explore with the Mako in Mass Effect 1 😁
Synth Potato🥔@SynthPotato
Prime example of what happens when you go too big for an open world. I like Starfield but it did not need repetitive empty planets and would’ve been a marginally superior game if it focused on one, hand-crafted solar system instead Quality > Quantity

@DigiAtlas @Shamaboy11 Awful. "Oh Peter/Miles. You're such a good guy. Just... be careful..." And then if there's supposed to be tension, they'll sigh. Then Peter/Miles will sigh too. No one ever articulates their personal grievances cause that might be "uncomfortable" or require actually writing any.
English

@KingBojoII @Shamaboy11 The large issue is Insomniac has decided Ratchet is a boy scout and now they write Spider-Man characters as if they're *all* boy scouts.
English

My biggest problem with modern Insomniac Games writing is that none of these characters are ever allowed to have any form of edge to clash with each other. It’s like they took the wrong criticisms of why Sunset Overdrive’s writing was so bad
TheJoshMan ✝️@TheJoshMan07
It’s funny that Dunkey said almost the same exact thing except for a different Insomniac game.
