@TheOfficerTatum @RepTimBurchett The Bible says God made creation & called it “good.” But when He made man, He called him (man) “VERY good.” We were made in His image. Insulting His creation is not a good look. He made us beautiful, and through our own free will (which He blessed us with) we screwed things up.

@rootcausesleuth Very intriguing question… There was a time when I was younger that I took the Bible at face value and loved the Lord with a very simple faith. I miss those days. I must remind myself that my only real purpose is not to understand God, but to love and worship Him.

@rabbriansamuel Your post just made me pray comfort over you. No condemnation here. God hears and understands our cries of grief and pain. Our Messiah was a man of great sorrows, familiar with pain.

I shouldn't have posted what I did about my mother of blessed memory. I hold to hope that mom had a "thief on the cross" encounter. And I know they many share that hope about their friends and family. And I would never seek to diminish hope. But my role is to share the pure, unfiltered gospel message, as offensive as it may be, and not express hope as truth. So I apologize.

@KirkWilson It shouldn't be one-off leadership. Leadership should be spread throughout the elders, deacons, teachers, ushers, security, music/AV team, etc. The same grace, power and peace of the Holy Spirit should not be resident in just one person in a church. It's not a one man show.

@JPGolfandTaxes Yes! Absolutely. Very similar. But also, one is specifically suppose to lead their people with the grace, power and peace of the Holy Spirit.

@KirkWilson Leading a church is no different than leading a corporation. Both pastors and CEOs feel misunderstood and underappreciated. Both must guided by core principles or neither will be effective in their vocations.

@malachiobrien Let me add, pastors are extremely blessed. Most of them control their own schedules. They have personal time in God’s Word and prayer that many Christians only dream of. The potential threat of criticism is a hidden blessing that should help keep him in sound teaching.

@malachiobrien Former senior pastor here. The level of self-importance and crybabiness that comes from so many pastors is nauseating to me. Everyone’s job is tough. Everyone feels unappreciated at times. If you can’t stand criticism, you’re in the wrong profession. Go sell ice cream.

A dynamic that few understand is this. Unless you have been a senior pastor. You do not have the ability to understand the dynamics that come with leading a church. Even if you have served on a church staff you don’t the ability to fully know the weight of it. It is easy to say “what you would do if…or pastors should do…” When I was a youth pastor I was very arrogant thinking I knew better than the senior pastor. Better preacher, leader, etc.. I was wrong. Having a YouTube channel or digital ministry… can be & is ministry. It is not however remotely close to serving and leading a congregation. Doesn't make it lesser. Just not the same. If you have any sort of ministry outside the church…I hope you are under the covering of a church AND are the best member a pastor could ask for. Faithfully attending, serving, & giving in your church. Thoughts.

@rootcausesleuth @awright_1983 We don’t have all the answers. But there are a few things that are true that help guide us. Predestination (as Calvinists define it) does not line up with God’s nature found in scripture. How it all works… who knows. But logic clearly doesn’t lead in certain directions.

@rootcausesleuth That's the core argument behind the foreknowledge vs predestination debate. Free will is an essential component of the fulfilment of God's plan. Without it, we indeed would just be going through the motions and it wouldn't mean anything.

If they renamed the show, then grifters like Candace would say “Look how evil they are. They’ve already moved on.”
Candace Owens@RealCandaceO

@AwakenWithJP They don’t even have the decency to simply rename the show. Like just name it the Erika Kirk show.

@ChristianJComis Who is greater, a God who has to create people that must obey His every decree to accomplish His will, or a God who is so sovereign He can accomplish His perfect will through the free will of man? I submit to you that, with all its faults, the Arminian God is not the limited God.

This is where we would part ways, brother. I would argue that Arminians believe in a God who is not fully God. Any God who's Free Will is in any way contingent upon or dependent upon human free wills is not worthy of being fully God. This would amount to a finite and limited "god." And finite theism does not square with the God of the Bible.

@ChristianJComis I’m not sure I follow… Neither the Calvinist nor the Arminian believes God is “less than fully God.”

@KirkWilson But the proposition that "God is either fully God, or God is less than fully God" is not a false dichotomy. And this is exactly what the debate between Calvinists and Arminians boils down to.
