I was raised under this false doctrine. They teach speaking in tongues is a necessity for salvation. I laid in bed for years as a young boy terrified that I was going to hell bc I hadn’t spoken in tongues yet. “Why God?! I don’t want to go to hell!! I love you!!”

Here’s my take, I know we need to look at timelines and history to get an accurate view of where we are in the present. However, dividing up generations into categories like X, Mills, Z etc just divides society. It causes resentment between parents/children/Grands.

People need to stop making these complaints. It makes them sound historically ignorant.
Yes, Gen Z has struggles which may be more difficult than the Millennials, X, and Boomers, but all post WWII generations have it exponentially easier than what came before.
We all struggle.

God is not metaphysically UNABLE to sin.
Jesus could have sinned.
But neither of them would or will. Because it’s against their character of love.
Jesus’ perfect life was a victory precisely because he COULD HAVE sinned.
He was made like us in every way, except he didn’t choose sin.

@troywojick This is why Jesus is called the last Adam. He accomplished what Adam failed to do. Though He was tempted in every way, He lived a sinless life, thus becoming the spotless Lamb who redeemed us from our sin. What a beautiful thought.

@DougDozier3 @KirkWilson Yeah that is why we have to dig in rather than accept labels at face value. For example, "Calvinists" could fall under any of these teachings: Augustinian, John Calvin, TULIP, Calvinism, Neo-Calvinism, New-Calvinism, Determinism, Fatal Determinism, etc.

I don't know of a Provisionist that believes we are conceived with a sinless human nature. Article 2 on their statement of faith explicitly says they do believe we inherit a sinful nature.
"We affirm that, because of the fall of Adam, every person inherits a nature and environment inclined toward sin and that every person who is capable of moral action will sin.
