The first paper from our lab is now out in peer-reviewed form @LSAjournal. Huge congratulations to the first author Mary Bergwell, @STEMinistSkater, now in grad school at UPenn, and second author @JY_Park102! I am very proud of their hard work. They even let me do a few expts!

A study by @Kirkland_Lab from @OMRF shows that the cBAF complex efficiently opposes polycomb repressive complexes 1 and 2, a function not shared by gBAF or pBAF complexes life-science-alliance.org/content/7/11/e…

Can't wait to try this out. Seems like a very simple (yet elegant) adaptation to our CUT&Tag protocols that we should be able to implement immediately.
Robert Hänsel-Hertsch@EpiStrucStab

🧪Move over CUT&Tag, there’s a new #TranscriptionFactor mapping method in town. Our newly developed DynaTag is faster, cleaner, more sensitive than #ChIPseq, #CUT&RUN and #CUT&Tag. 🔗 Our @natcomms.nature.com paper: nature.com/articles/s4146… 🧵Here’s why DynaTag is so powerful(1/7)

@SaligramaLab Congrats on the great score at least. Hope it comes through and the PO is just being extra cautious. (And we can both quit the insomnia club)

@aemonten @TrumanLab It probably breaks the confidentiality rules of some conferences since the AI company is presumably also keeping the recording for themselves.

@TrumanLab "I don't want to be recorded, in any form" is the complaint I've heard. Some AI notetakers record the audio and then transcribe and summarize.

If you were giving a talk, would you complain if you knew someone in the audience was using an AI tool to capture notes about your talk? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Our collaborative work with the @NAT_machinery lab on NAA80 is now published in @LSAjournal. Actin is a critical component of the eukaryotic cytoskeleton, it undergoes unique N-terminal processing by dedicated enzymes, resulting in a mature, acidic, and acetylated form. In humans, NAA80 catalyzes N-terminal acetylation, the final step in this process. To investigate the loss of NAA80 function, our labs created zebrafish models for Naa80. Our findings demonstrate that zebrafish Naa80 acetylates various forms of actin, including muscle and non-muscle actins, and plays a crucial role in normal hearing.
