Got this one in yesterday. A nice addition to the collection. I also own the newer movies in 4K (and BR). It's been a while that I seen them (in the 90's), I think we had them on VHS back then. So a nice upgrade. #PhysicalMedia

Nobody's burning DVDs, nobody's recording to VHS. The 2020s are gonna be a huge black hole for lost media. "yeah nobody saved anything from that time period for some reason. Our best guess is people just stood around & vaped all day, but this is hotly debated in academic circles"

@sondesix Perfect blacks are inherent. Unlike LED/LCD TVs, OLEDs don't use a backlight, so blacks stay pitch black even as the panel ages.

@VHSDVDBLURAY4K The only one that matters is the original 1999 theatrical release on film. The home releases don't matter because EVERYONE has their tv/projector on different settings and different makes/models all have different settings. So who gives a shit?

Just watched Chinatown in 4K for the first time. The grain, those textures look insane. Chinatown on 4K is straight-up hypnotic. Every bead of sweat on Jack Nicholson’s face, every shadow in the drought cracked LA riverbed… this is why physical media still rules. #PhysicalMedia
