Perhaps, today is also the best time to share this new and exciting challenge in my career. In the coming days, I will be working with the newly-elected and returning Governors of the North East and North West to develop and implement a wide range of solutions to critical challenges around peace-building, recovery, reconciliation, sustainable development, Children at Risk, Almajiri practices, and the devastations of climate change. This is part of @UNDPNigeria’s intervention plans, along with its partners, to tackle the rippling impact of banditry, Boko Haram, and other security challenges in the region, which have stalled social and economic growth beyond the affected communities. As a country, we must come to terms with the fact that it’s impractical to deliver meaningful development at the national level unless our Governors are at the forefront of this search for lasting solutions. This is even more so for those of us in the development sector, and I’m excited to be a part of the programme underway.
