If it’s not on a Saturday don’t bother. Part of the appeal of it is the WHOLE DAY of buildup. You make plans for it.

Filling pints up to the brim is one of the dumbest traditions/standards we all just accept. Beer is wasted through spillage, wet hands, wet tables, and lots of mopping up for bar staff. A slightly bigger glass is a solution a smart species would choose.

FIFA should just have America host every World Cup. Where else in the world do you have this many elite stadiums in cities capable of handling such an influx of foreign visitors? And it lines up with the American football offseason for easy conversion to soccer for the venues.

@TheAthleticFC Well if they don't go back to 32, 64 is better than 48. It would tidy up the group stage and remove the 3rd place nonsense. If you look at some of the teams that didn't qualify this year, the quality is definitely there: Italy, Poland, Ukraine, Wales, Nigeria, Chile etc

Gianni Infantino has said FIFA will examine expanding the World Cup by a further 16 nations to a 64-team tournament ahead of its next edition in 2030.
The 2030 tournament will be spread across six nations and three continents: Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay are scheduled to host one match apiece at the start of the competition, with the remaining games split between Morocco, Portugal and Spain.

I feel qualified to chime in here.
Being middle class is a relatively new thing for most of the developing world. A table full of food feels luxurious to the Thai, the Turk, the Arab, the Indian, in a way westerners don’t quite grasp. Hunger is too far distant from our psyche.
I look at a table like this and I see gluttony and waste. The Turk feels content with the feast laid out before him. The table laden with food represents success to him in the same way westerners view a well manicured lawn or a decent wine collection. They are still at the safety stage of industrialization. Westerners want self-actualization.

The Tigers are prepared to let Luai leave at the end of 2026, despite him having a year remaining on his contract, as the club looks to create salary cap space to retain its young core, including the Fainu brothers. He will need to take a Jonah Pezet style pit stop somewhere.

@ThatLondonLady @England @FIFAWorldCup I'm Aussie and support England from back when Spurs had half the team starting around 2016. I also had English mates I'd go watch games with. Australia unfortunately do not go to deep into the competition and my heritage nations Greece and Ukraine didn't qualify.
