This is extremely disturbing and hard to watch 🚨 A woman at a local river in Maple Ridge allegedly noticed a man being abusive to his daughter so she started recording. She captured a man who’s name is surfacing online as Adrian Phillips grabbing his young daughter, slamming her into the river, and slapping her in the head 😳👀 The girl, who is allegedly autistic, was losing her balance while crossing the river when he grabbed her by her clothing and submerged her. This is heartbreaking. 💔

At the height of the UCP Leadership Race in 2022 there were less than 160,000 members. I have heard there are less than 50,000 right now. If 20% of people who signed the petition joined the party. They would have a majority of the UCP membership.

@david_parker The most difficult people to convince to vote (whether for or against) have been those living comfortable lives and no interest in politics. But hey, they sure know a lot about The Oilers!

Unfortunately Marty is right, our greatest enemy is apathy.

Stop making excuses. I spent 45 days sitting at a pop-up along highway 1A, often with 3 or 4 other people. We had a dozen flags, signs, vehicles, internet advertising, me posting about it on X, Stay Free Alberta support and more. I estimate that 50,000 people drove past us every day. We had a crew on both sides of the highway. We did everything possible to make it as convenient for people to stop and sign. We had a safe space, with room to park. We were at an intersection with lights. We even had a gas station and a coffee shop 200 m away. People saw us every day. In the end, only about 3,000 people sign at our location, which probably put us in the top 10% of canvassers. The #1 reason people didn't stop is plain apathy. People don't want to get involved, even when their life sucks. I saw it in driver's eyes every days. They drove by in blissful ignorance, literally avoiding eye contact with us. The #2 reason was the weather, but even that wasn't much of a factor. I personally only talked to a few folks who worried about signing for fear of retribution from the government. Personally, I think that at best the canvassers could have obtained another 100,000 signatures, if they were better organized. That's it. I also sincerely do not believe that the Forever CAnada group got a legitimate 400,000 signatures. Not a chance.

Duane - Parker doesn’t speak for our movement. 301,620 signatures is more than Carney got in VOTES in the last election in Alberta. As a Political “Scientist” as opposed to a shill for the NDP you know that our people don’t like to sign things because Carney has taught them that the government will seize your bank account if you step out of line. We also turned away thousands of discriminated against rural Albertans whose Photo ID had a PO Box as opposed to a physical address. Numerous, police, fire, nurses, teachers and other front line workers didn’t sign for fear of job repercussions. They will all be voting yes - because they understand what cutting their income tax bill in half will mean. I have yet to meet a police officer or sheriff who won’t be voting YES to independence. By all means, keep minimizing and dismissing us as a fringe minority. It will be so much sweeter when we win.

Jason Kenney is lying. @JeffreyRWRath and the @stayfreealberta team did not receive any personal data. He's conflating facts. It's also very sad to see so many sour grapes when Albertans are following a legal, peaceful, and democratic process like the Citizens Initiative Act.
Jason Kenney 🇨🇦🇺🇦🇮🇱@jkenney

It's beyond bizarre that we are letting Tin Foil Hat brigade crazies like Rath divide Alberta and dominate the politics of this brilliant province, while giving them our personal data to boot.

Wow This is nearly double, DOUBLE, the required signatures. Alberta is done with the Liberals. This is 1,000,000% BECAUSE OF THE LIBERALS. They are tearing the country apart.

We should be frank. The sovereigntists probably could have gotten a lot more signatures had there not been a fear that someone in the civil service would leak the list of signatures. There is a fear of stigmatization and abuse by nationalists. 1/3

My wife has acquired another goat. This is goat number three. She tells me that three goats will be enough but I’m starting to be skeptical. I have become a full time goat herder. This is who I am now. It has always been my fate. There’s no escaping it.
