That’s a convenient narrative - but it’s not history. The U.S. was in conflict with Muslim states during the Barbary Wars in the early 1800s. Long before the modern State of Israel was established in 1948. Then the USA was focused more inward on growth and was isolationist until WWI and WWII. Modern U.S. involvement grew from oil, geopolitics such as the Cold War, and regional power struggles. The modern Middle East and many of its conflicts were shaped by the collapse of the Ottoman Empire and the redrawing of borders by European powers. Blaming everything on Israel might simplify the story… …but it doesn’t make it accurate.
