The next age of mankind will be defined by accountability and universal judgment. Morality never worked because accountability and awareness of one’s actions was theoretical and postponed until after death. Soon, technology will make both immediate and inescapable. That will change everything, in good ways and bad.

@sama AI will not help create anything “new” by definition since is Backward looking tool based on an historical dataset hence will always be bound to stick to what already exists. If anything AI will bring efficiency in repetitive time consuming tasks automation.

AI will help discover new science, such as cures for diseases, which is perhaps the most important way to increase quality of life long-term. AI will also present new threats to society that we have to address. No company can sufficiently mitigate these on their own; we will need a society-wide response to things like novel bio threats, a massive and fast change to the economy, extremely capable models causing complex emergent effects across society, and more. These are the areas the OpenAI Foundation will initially focus on, and in my opinion are some of the most important ones for us to get right. The Foundation will spend at least $1 billion over the next year. @woj_zaremba, co-founder of OpenAI, will transition to Head of AI Resilience. I believe that shifting how the world thinks about safety to include a Resilience-style approach is critical, and I am extremely grateful to Wojciech for taking on this role. Wojciech has been my cofounder for the last decade; anyone who knows him will understand what I mean when I say he is one of a kind. He has a lot of ideas about how we build a new kind of AI safety. @JacobTref is joining as Head of Life Sciences and Curing Diseases. @annaadeola, our VP of Global Impact, will transition to Head of AI for Civil Society and Philanthropy. @robert_kaiden is joining as Chief Financial Officer. @jeffarnold is joining as Director of Operations.

The mad thing is Judaism, Christianity and Islam are effectively different denominations of the same religion They all believe Abraham (Ibrahim for Muslims) was first to make convenant with God. Jews believe the convenant passed through his son Isaac and then Jacob. Christians agree. Muslims believe the convenant line passed through his other son Ishmael (Ismail) Christians believe Jesus Christ was the promised Messiah - and part of God (Holy Trinity). Muslims believe Jesus was a prophet but not divine. Jews don’t recognise him as either (I’m an atheist, so don’t believe any of it)
Operation Heal America@OperHealAmerica

Muslims do not believe that Jesus is God. It’s that simple. Don’t overcomplicate it.

ICE detain mother at airport—traveling with young daughter. First reported kidnapping at airport since Trump ordered ICE agents to report—refuse to show ID. "I don't know who you are!" witness yells. "You could be someone kidnapping her!" Agent continue to refuse to show ID until bystanders agree they should call police to report a kidnapping. Incident occurred at the San Francisco International Airport Gate E2 on March 22, 2026, at 10pm. #DemsUnited

@skdh @littmath They don't think, they autocomplete based on things others have written. There is no logical reasoning itself. If no one ever wrote it down, the LLM can't produce an answer. Example, the upside down glass error- can't figure out to turn it over to fix it.

the three things that currently irk me most are (a) too limited task time. It will come back without actually having solved the problem, then looses all internal progress if I have to do it again. This forces me to chop up all tasks into tiny queries, but then it doesn't understand the big picture so it makes stupid mistakes/comes up with nonsensical ideas. Also, it's hard to figure out which order of tasks will work best. (I've tried asking the model itself to figure it out but that didn't help either.) (b) Evidently doesn't use symbolic reasoning for logic, general proofs and arguments are basically wrong 80% of the time, especially claims that something is supposedly impossible (because it's made an assumption that wasn't required which made it impossible). This one is extremely tedious because once it's convinced that a solution is impossible based on its faulty reasoning, it will stop even trying to solve the problem, so all I can do is start over in a different thread. (c) It evidently can't tell apart user input from its own output. Ie, it will frequently refer to its own previous output as that of "the user". It's a huge problem because that way it gets increasingly confused about what it was actually supposed to do.

Given what current-gen LLMs (say, in math, but whatever) can do, I think their apparent limitations are kind of mysterious. What is the blocker preventing, at present, high quality fully autonomous work?

As Americans pay more at the pump, Trump lifted sanctions on both Russia & the Iranian regime so they will profit even more from higher oil prices caused by his war. He may be a self-proclaimed “genius” but it doesn’t take one to see this isn’t in our interest. End the war, NOW.
Mark Warner@MarkWarner

I remember when my Republican colleagues blasted Barack Obama over $400M tied to hostages and an old debt with Iran. Now, under Donald Trump, sanctions relief on 140M barrels of Iranian oil could net Tehran up to $15 BILLION — while the U.S. is at war. Where’s the outrage now?

@grok Senator Van hollen refuses to fully fund DHS. Can you explain in detail how Hamas committed atrocities in Israel. And can explain the atrocities that occurred in this video? And would Hamas behead American babies and burn them alive if they had the opportunity? Is America less safe without DHS being fully funded? Considering the heightened state of terrorist alerts.

I will not vote for another dime for Trump's war. This war is making us less safe. It's taken 13 American lives. Killed thousands of civilians. And is costing billions in taxpayer dollars. The best way to protect our troops, save lives, & end this war is to cut off funding.

I’m still amazed that the Israelis convinced the U.S. to engage in an era defining conflict that presidents had resisted for decades and which is now likely to hand the coming century to China—all so that their PM could continue scoring political points and gain relatively greater hegemony in their own region. When the global economic crisis also starts to bite everyone will also know who to blame.
Joaquin Castro@JoaquinCastrotx

Tulsi Gabbard, Director of National Intelligence, confirmed that Israel has different objectives in the war in Iran than the U.S. This is a serious admission. Entering a war alongside an ally with different goals threatens our ability to achieve peace.

@escobyte @GergelyOrosz Except that drill sometimes randomly goes backwards and breaks the screw, it is unreliable, a working drill hasn’t been invented yet and the current version will not evolve into a working version because the insides are intrinsically incapable of it.

This whole segment just rubs me the wrong way Jensen is very clearly talking up his book: wanting to see companies spend *much* more $$$ on GPUs / tokens... to increase NVIDIA revenue even more... to do the same thing as they already do (build software, as they have before)
TFTC@TFTC21

Jensen Huang: "If that $500,000 engineer did not consume at least $250,000 worth of tokens, I am going to be deeply alarmed. This is no different than a chip designer who says 'I'm just going to use paper and pencil. I don't think I'm going to need any CAD tools.'"

A New Jersey man was given a 'slap on the wrist' after he admitted to decapitating a seagull after the bird tried to eat his daughter's fries, animal rights advocates say. Franklin Ziegler, 30, pleaded guilty to animal cruelty charges stemming from the July 2024 incident on the North Wildwood boardwalk, WPVI reported.
