fdagljkhdkfjghl why is vertex lighting (gouraud) straight up impossible to replicate in blender 2.8+ like it was the default lighting in 2.79 and below but it was replaced with per pixel (phong) lighting which clearly looks better but i want to get that n64 type shading

Despite looking much more detailed, the model for the coins in Super Mario Odyssey is actually 65% simpler than the one used in Super Mario Galaxy, due to taking advantage of modern rendering techniques. Details in image.
