We can and should take on multiple issues at once, including protecting our largest provincial tourist attraction and the businesses that support it from over zealous city bureaucrats.

Imagine if Danielle Smith and UCP spent as much time fixing healthcare, lowering power bills, addressing the data breach, and standing up to separatists as they do meddling in municipal affairs. Alberta would be a much better place. The problem isn't municipalities. The problem is the Premier's priorities.

It’s not rocket science Mayor…get the parties together in a room and come to an arrangement that works for everyone.
If we can negotiate an energy deal with the Liberals and get to a new arena deal with your City administration, I have faith you can find a way to get to a sound deal with Cowboys. It shouldn’t be hard.
Oh and a 75 dB sound is roughly equivalent to the volume of a washing machine or flushing toilet…

Rob, Google found you an electric toothbrush. It did not find the City’s actual rules. The limit is 70 dBA before midnight, not 50. That is 100 times the sound intensity you claim. I support Calgary having the best festivals, including the longest show hours on the continent. I will work with industry and community to protect that. I look forward to your retraction, in line with the same standard of accuracy you constantly demand from media.

I’m moving my company to the United States and incorporating in a tax-free state. - thinking about Idaho, there’s still time to choose. Looks like the fun police have struck again in Calgary, this time targeting the Calgary Stampede music scene. By reducing allowable noise levels and shutting shows down early on weeknights, the city will negatively affect hundreds of workers and create additional public safety and crowd-management problems due to guests leaving in a shorter timeframe. Many major festivals and entertainment districts across North America successfully operate without these types of restrictions. Stampede is one of Calgary's signature events, attracting hundreds of thousands of residents and visitors who come to enjoy the attractions, live music, and the unique energy of our city. The Mayor and Council should work with bylaw to reconsider these restrictions and work with festival operators to find a solution that balances community concerns with the economic and cultural benefits these events bring to Calgary. The NDP is literally requesting that the federal government intervene in an area of provincial jurisdiction.
Could you imagine having them in government “defending” our provincial rights?
If you don’t like the policy Naheed, explain why to Albertans and run your election campaign on it. We’ll beat you fair and square.
But don’t whine to Ottawa and ask them to oversee and interfere in our provincial affairs.

Asking the RCMP to investigate and charge a Premier with treason because you disagree with her policy (to hold a referendum in this case) is a dark path that we see in 3rd world banana republics.
