besides, there is formal procedure to discuss the issue and seek support, i.e. article 4 consultation. can be done anytime.

I think this is factually sad.
I understand that NATO had a right to be pre-consulted of a strike if their involvement was needed or sought (this is 100% true), but this operation is in everyone’s interest who is not part of IRGC.

Today in Budapest, Hungarian authorities took seven Ukrainian citizens hostage. The reasons are still unknown, as well as their current well-being, or the possibility of contacting them. These seven Ukrainians are employees of state-owned Oschadbank, who were operating two bank cars transiting between Austria and Ukraine and carrying cash as part of regular services between state banks. In fact, we are talking about Hungary taking hostages and stealing money. If this is the “force” announced earlier today by Mr Orban, then this is a force of a criminal gang. This is state terrorism and racketeering. We have already sent an official note demanding an immediate release of our citizens. We will also address the European Union with the request to provide a clear qualification of Hungary’s unlawful actions, hostage-taking, and robbery. @andreastzav @dkcrypto13 there's always a single point of failure somewhere, and modern armies still depend on inspirational personalities to persuade warriors to put lives and limbs at risk. too early to say the revolution in warfare re: (autonomous) drones has relegated this requirement. time will tell

@KryptoZeitgeist @dkcrypto13 I don't know and I don't have the expertise to reply, but I think that modern armies - and rightfully so - are not built around the personality of generals, because they become too fragile and with a single point of failure.

I can even see some positives in a longer Iran situation. It would reign in Donald Trump on other situations like Greenland. With mid terms coming up, I think chances are high this is his last adventure. Before may be too damaging and after will be impossible. Tariffs won’t come back either if he loses midterms.
But I do hope the US finishes the job.

@dkcrypto13 it would be absolutely asinine to commit ground troops into such disadvantageous conditions, but i'm old enough to know there's leadership who are stupid enough to make face-saving or disastrous decisions and more than enough sycophants willing to execute those orders
