Minor hockey in Canada can share the blame too. Kids between ages 10-16 Chase W’s and build super teams, while training with numerous skills coaches to improve their individual game instead of focusing on being coached and developing to play the game of hockey. Players on super teams don’t know how to lose and then struggle to deal with adversity. I see it first hand and it’s very troubling
FEED THE KIDS! 🟥 “Restore the North” is a sordid tour of Canadian universities and colleges that is part of the MAGA “Project 2025” playbook to attempt right-wing brainwashing of young Canadians Canada is not the USA though, and so far the movement has been a total flop, with very low attendance. 🤏🏼 Anyway, at a recent event ⬇️ 🎞️ - the leader of this failed movement, Conservative MP Jamil Jivani - Canada’s own off-brand Charlie Kirk wannabe, spoke to a bored handful of students, in a tiny classroom (not the grand arena he had hoped), about why he opposes feeding hungry kids at schools... 🍲 First of all, every single G7 country feeds its hungry schoolchildren. Every. Single. One. Except us. Jamil’s position, is simple: if your parents can’t afford to feed you, tough luck, go hypoglycemic in math class. No plan, no alternative, no compassion - just a sneering lecture about “personal responsibility” while children’s stomachs growl in the background. This is not conservatism. This is CRUELTY cosplaying as principle. 🤔 Jivani’s argument boils down to the laziest talking point in the Trump playbook: government bad, bootstraps good, let the invisible hand of the market pack the lunchboxes... 🤦🏻♂️ ◾️ Never mind that disabled parents, single parents, and families working two and three jobs EXIST. 🤷🏻♂️ ◾️ Never mind that childhood poverty didn’t suddenly appear in 2015 when the Liberals took over. ◾️ Never mind that kids literally cannot learn when they’re hungry. NONE of that matters when you’re auditioning for a Fox News contributor gig. 😏 Conservatives act as if school meal programs are some radical new invention. They’re not. Many Canadians say they remember hot lunches in elementary school in the 1950s and 60s. 🤷🏻♂️ This isn’t socialism; it’s a return to basic decency we already had and lost. 🇨🇦 The solution is embarrassingly simple: feed every child breakfast and lunch, no means-testing, no stigma, no child left pretending they’re “not hungry” because they’re ashamed... Universal school food programs work everywhere else in the Western world. But apparently when Canada tries it, Jamil Jivani must gasp in horror and tear his non-existent hair out. 🙄 This is why the Conservatives have lost four elections in a row and are barreling toward a fifth. They have chosen to import the absolute WORST of American politics - the performative cruelty, the deliberate ignorance, the gleeful punishment of the POOR - and rebrand it as “common sense.” There is no moral universe in which this is defensible. Kids deserve to eat. Full stop. That used to be a Canadian value. Poilievre and Jamil Jivani, aren’t just wrong. They are shameful. And every Canadian who believes children should NOT go hungry, should be furious that this disgraceful MP and his leader hold public office. #LeadershipMatters
Over the last two days, I’ve had videos of me, my loved ones and friends posted online from a personal night out where I was filmed. Extremists who threatened me and said they’d laugh if I got r*ped are further mocking and attacking me in the comments. These people are sick.
