🚨 The latest public sector finance stats for June just dropped from @ONS and they're a fiscal horror show. Borrowing up, debt interest up, deficit up, spending up and taxes up.
Here's what you need to know about how the government's finances are spiralling🧵

@PolitlcsUK This is a sitting MP who is being paid by the British public to sit making tik tok videos whilst his fellow countrymen can’t afford to pay the bills . MPs have forgotten the people they serve and each day should be serving the interests of the British public by whom they are paid

No Farmers No Food!
Good luck to all the farmers protesting today. We should not be biting the hand that feeds us. If we want to continue to feed our families healthy British vegetables, meat, eggs, poultry & Dairy. We need to help them and support our farmers. They are more important than we could ever imagine. If we lose control of our food. We lose control of our freedom.
There are ruffly 200,000 farms in the UK and almost 70% of them are worth over £1 million pound meaning they could be affected. And remember a bit of machinery like a combine harvester or tractor can cost around £500,000. Farms are worth lots of money because of the machinery and land, just because the assets are worth this much doesn’t mean they have loads of cash flow. Supermarkets have squeezed farmers so after all the hard work they literally get pennies for loafs of bread & cheese etc. I know a couple of farmers who have turned fields into car boot sales & do pumpkin patches at Halloween to help cover the costs of farming as they are constantly being sanctioned & squeezed. It is not an easy job.
Please let’s all get behind our farmers!!
We need our food!!
Good luck to you all.
Bosh❤️

@wesandpete @GMPCityCentre Why should we have to turn into a country where you aren’t allowed to wear watches anymore because crime is spiralling . Watching a high trust society vanish before our eyes . What will these criminals turn to when watches aren’t on the table anymore .
English

@GMPCityCentre came out to see us at the hotel and spent time with us to get all of the facts. Please ladies and gents - do not let your guard down and don’t wear anything of any value in the centre of Manchester. I thought this watch theft thing was a London thing but it happened to us and was a terrible end to an otherwise lovely day. Not hopeful this will be followed up or if there’s any CCTV footage. Please please please be careful. We’ll never feel about Manchester the same way ever again. @AndyBurnhamGM @MENnewsdesk @BBCNWT @GranadaReports @TheMancUK @ManchesterMill

After a wonderful afternoon and evening on the British Pullman with our dear friends we headed to Canal Street for a few last drinks. On our short walk back to the Dakota Hotel on Ducie Street four lads of possible Middle Eastern original attacked us both to steal Wes’s Rolex watch. It happened so fast and they ran off once they got it off him. Wes is badly bruised and cut but we’re thankful it wasn’t more serious. We’ve always felt safe when visiting Mcr but these guys were lying in wait for people at the top of Canal Street and were hassling people ahead of us earlier on. We’re obviously devastated and shell shocked but my Wes will be ok. Highlighting here because people need to be aware of this…

Elon Musk in 2011: I really want SpaceX to help make life multiplanetary.
“I think that a future where humanity is a space-faring civilization out there, exploring the stars, is an incredibly exciting future and inspiring.
That's what we're trying to help make happen. I really want SpaceX to help make life multiplanetary. I'd like to see a self-sustaining base on Mars.”

🇬🇧 British people are now the 2nd most miserable people in the world
Previous happiness studies are based on income, wealth and healthcare quality, simply putting Western countries on top always, very very biased
The new Mental State of the World report is the first happiness ranking that actually makes sense and is based on surveys of satisfaction
People in many low-income countries are actually MORE happy regardless of income: in this case for example 🇩🇴 Dominican Republic and 🇱🇰 Sri Lanka are VERY happy
While people in a high-income country like United Kingdom are VERY unhappy
Added the data to Nomad List for the [ ☺️ Happy ] filter

Lower inflation is welcome, but there's one thing not being said about today's 4.6% Oct figure:
The big drop in energy prices is being credited. Yet this time last year all homes got a £66/mth reduction from govt. They don't this year. That's excluded from inflation figures. In practical terms then, what home's typically pay for energy has hardly dropped, so the gain households feel won't really materialise.
