@DanaRebikWGN @WGNNews Remember where to send your electric bill when it doubles. Will county board members! They never stand with citizens, always the big corporations that line their pockets and pay for their campaigns. Vote everyone of them out!

Joliet City Council passes data center project 8-1. This will be the largest data center in Illinois, the size of Central Park. @WGNNews

What a wild year it's been with a fascinating #IL09 race, with so many twists and turns, up until *literally* the very last moment

@totalnewbie1 I don't even like Kat due to the fact she was a carpetbagger but this take just shows how online has no clue about the dynamic of this race was

This is not about labor or fiscal policy. This is about how 30 members of city council are willing to use tipped workers and their livelihoods as pawns in their ongoing campaign to embarrass and disempower Mayor Johnson.
Heather Cherone@HeatherCherone

BREAKING: The Chicago City Council Wednesday voted 30-18 to reverse a 2023 vote to phase out the tipped minimum wage, one of Mayor Brandon Johnson’s major legislative accomplishments. Johnson is weighing a veto. @wttw

If we take a step back view the whole picture, it’s pretty clear that the same progressive ideas that were considered radical during Trump’s first term (Medicare for All, Taxing Billionaires, abolish ICE, etc.) are now becoming mainstream Dem ideas.
Eric Michael Garcia@EricMGarcia

Big winners tonight: -JB Pritzker -Tammy Duckworth -Liberal progressives Losers: -Lefties (#IL08 especially and #Il09 but not as bad as the 8th) -Crypto and AI -The Congressional Black Caucus Mixed bag: -AIPAC

At a time that the average worker is being destroyed by the cost of living actually insane that the city council would vote to take money away from workers. ACTUALLY INSANE

@admcrlsn I really think the thanking ICE vote and receiving money from MAGA donors really hurt Raja with Black and Latino voters

Holy shit what a wipeout for Stratton in Chicago. She: — Dominated in majority Black areas — Won convincingly in the progressive white areas — Won most majority Latino areas — And even put up a solid showing in the wealthier centrist Downtown/Loop area
Sage Of Time🇵🇷@SageOfTime1

The 2026 IL Senate Democratic Primary in Chicago — in Limiting Raja Krishnamoorthi to only the most ethnic-white parts of Chicago Proper, Lt. Gov Julianna Stratton was able to get a 20+ victory over the Suburban Congressman in a city that powered her to a statewide win.

Dan Proft may not know how to win elections. But he does know how to get paid $25,000 a month by Ted Dabrowski’s campaign while helping him get less than 30 percent of the vote.

Raja started running ads in July 2025. Built a big statewide poll lead as Stratton struggled to raise money. The pro-Stratton super PAC didn’t go on air until January. Raja campaign rejected comparisons to Trone-Alsobrooks but it sort of played out like that.
Adam Carlson@admcrlsn

Stratton has officially crossed the 40% threshold, and her margin should continue to expand since most of the outstanding votes are in Chicago. Raja really flopped pretty much everywhere except for a few of the collar counties near/in his district and the Quad Cities area.

I met @DanielBiss in 2017 when he ran for governor and I became a huge supporter, as that campaign went on I started to consider him as a friend, he even spoke at a fundraiser for me when I ran. I am so happy to see him win this seat! CONGRATS Daniel!!! You deserve it!!!
