The Barbies came out of the potty easily. The entire bar of soap and the poops required additional persuasion.

Did you know Garage sales are almost unheard of in Japan?

@MinuteofZombie Half that at sticker price but you ignore the debt, manage the cash flow, and then that becomes like five bucks when your income goes asymptotic in this profession. Huge mindset shift from linear engineering 3% COL raises.

If we had maintained the same ratio of cost to get an aerospace/mechanical engineer degree to starting salary of an aerospace/mechanical engineer From 1985 to 2026 The average starting salary for an aerospace/mechanical engineer in 2026 would be $210K It’s $76K

@planefag @SubCerberus Indeed. I am from rural Texas and whenever I am at a potluck meal, I always make sure to take some the dishes that have not been touched yet because I want the person who brought that dish to feel good.

my dear brother, the greatest shame there is among our people, is to come to a "pot-luck" (where everyone brings a dish of food) and to see that the dish YOU brought has been mostly untouched. if you were to show up and devour the cooked meat like a beast, we would consider that a great honor and blessing upon our cooking. You are invited to my family's cook-outs at any time, my friend.

Gold rum decanted into a container previously filled with Campari tastes like that orange hand soap. Do not recommend.

@SMB_Attorney @SellersCounsel The USPTO just struck 800 TM apps from the record because they were filed by a scam firm that took money from real clients but had no actual lawyers. There is a market segment that will eat this stuff up like a kid in a Twinkie factory.

@RolandGunnTN Great points all around. Aligning my zone of concern with my zone of influence, and going to the gym just as consistently as I went to church fixed my brain in law school.

@THEJaxEsq At UT we sometimes had bar review at “The Library”. There were no books at “The Library” on 6th Street in Austin, Texas.

When I was in law school there were events they called “bar review” and it was just them going to bars but as a 1L I thought it was literal prepping for the Bar and no why would I do that? So finally someone in 2L was like “Jackie no we go to bars are you coming?” and still no.
-mannypulator@mannyofabuja

@cujadf It’s part of the lawyer job description to have a drinking problem, lol. They’re literally called to the bar 😄

@mmsmithlegal I got a response to a cease letter from someone with obviously minimal English skills that was total boilerplate garbage today. I’m sure they thought it was genius. Gonna have to start suing pro se’s outta the gate to get them to take stuff seriously w AI deluding them now

Told someone that what they wanted would be around 7k plus tax counsel. Said they had some stuff drafted from a previous thing that a previous attorney did. I said I'd take a look. Just a bunch of AI/LLM bs. But they essentially lied right out of the gate. No, they're not a client.

@CoachJEB18 @dollarsanddata Your combined student loans were (1/2)X your combined family income & houses were between 1-2X for a BA / BS degree, maybe 3X in a hot market... That is not how things are now...

@dollarsanddata The level of chronological snobbery from millennials towards boomers shows zero understanding of the times. 1993: I graduated with $12k in student loans in a terrible job market, paid them off with my wife making $32k per year combined and bought a house at 29 (8% rate).

@flowidealism Yes. There is a rung you must get really good grades to reach. But then the next rung has nothing to do with grades. Learning the switch while are still in the window to climb that ladder is something we were never taught. In time, the state school full ride isn't w/o a cost..

As a working class kid going to Harvard, I was completely caught off guard by the role of high status socializing as a big part of college for both the elites and savvy outsiders. I had gone in thinking college was about taking classes.
Anna Stansbury@annastansbury

We often think that the effects of class background are washed out by education. But we show that two people who did the same subject at the same university at the same time, and got the same grade …. end up earning quite different amounts when they enter the labour market

Remove the heat shield. The way an associate grows is by letting them experience direct client contact. My associate prepared an issues list for the purchase agreement—I didn’t read it—and I will let him take the lead on the conference call with the client. I’ll be there for air support, but not as a heat shield.

I started taking greens powder, vitamin D, magnesium, Curcumin, fish oil and I feel significantly healthier both physically and mentally. Should I add creatine? I keep seeing posts on X about it. I understand the muscular benefits but what am I missing? What else does it do?
