@evilpez4 Amateurs... Pretty sure the NDP/ Liberals would have frozen all their bank accounts and labelled them terrorists by now.

@MondoABx @RajSherman Why would she? It wasn't a personal gift it was a gift to Alberta.

Rob, thanks for explaining this comprehensively. It almost makes sense. So, are you saying the Saudi’s are cheap? That’s almost an insult to travel a planet and receive a cheap copper plated lead sculpture to remember the kingly hospitality from such a wealthy empire. I’m sure the hotels were Best Westerns with free breakfast and gym/pool/free wifi and flight were economy class. Good thing they have ethical and have inexpensive tastes in gift giving. We should be just as frugal with our sole sourced contracts ✌🏽
Rob Anderson@FreeAlbertaRob

To all those Nenshi followers who buy your tinfoil in bulk, here are the facts around your latest conspiracy theory about the now infamous cat sculpture. 1. The cat sculpture is worth a few hundred dollars and is made of copper - not gold. 2. It was gifted to the People of Alberta by the Energy Minister of Saudi Arabia who was attending the World Petroleum Conference in Calgary in 2023. 3. It was not a personal gift to the Premier and is being displayed at the McDougall Centre Premier’s Office out of respect for a country we are developing an important and growing trading relationship with. 4. As Nenshi doesn’t understand, because he never has nor will he ever be Premier, the exchange of gifts with foreign dignitaries is a regular part of international diplomacy as a gesture of friendship, economic partnership and peaceful relations. Nenshi’s disrespect for foreign trading partners is yet more proof of his complete unfitness to lead…and I want to express my unwavering support for his continued leadership of the Alberta NDP.

@MondoABx @RajSherman Probably didn't have the details about the "cat sculpture" on hand. Like seriously, you expect your opposition to want to talk government policy, not a gift to the people of Alberta copper cat. Who comes to the legislature prepared with cat facts?

@RajSherman I just don't understand why Danielle Smith didn't mention this when questioned by Nenshi? Did she not know? Hmmm. Inquiring minds.

Danielle Smith would never have revealed that she flew on private jets and stayed at luxury hotels, all funded by the Saudi Arabian government, if I hadn't directly questioned her about it last week. The issue isn't about the golden cat statue. It's about the Premier accepting all manner of lavish gifts from a foreign government without a second thought. Twice the corruption with none of the competence. We deserve better.

@rhpnovascotia You guys should consider endorsing candidates who are running on low spending/ low taxes. Municipal elections are a joke. Nobody turns up. A grassroots effort to push the right candidate into Council can find success.

AJ Greer with one of the most malicious hits in a long time. This isn’t reckless. You can watch him make a conscious decision in real time. Should warrant a lengthy suspension.

Parros and his group have brought us to this point. We need to start over with a new process, new people and clearly delineated guidelines. No one knows whether a hit is a 2 game suspension or minor penalty. The fans/media are fed up and players brains are not being protected.

Should there be a review of player safety?

@Ohaime013 @Specter_97 @doctor303r85803 @williamdube_ Looks like a hold around the shoulder. Matheson did shove him down pretty good too. Definitely 2min penalty for holding. A ref calling the result could give an extra 2min for roughing I guess? For the force of the shove? It would be a soft call.

@tractorboyns @TimHoustonNS Lol.. why am I not surprised you didn't notice you didn't notice? Most NDP supporters have the financial acumen of their party. You don't need to make big purchases either the % of their income going to HST goes up the less you earn.

@Kyle_Haligonian @TimHoustonNS 1. No one noticed the one % cut unless youre making huge purchases. 2. Because of the Houston dodgy overspending. 3. Don't need a toll, just cameras to log driving and charge, more you drive more you pay!

Nova Scotians voiced their concerns about parts of this year’s budget. After listening, we are restoring funding for supports for people with disabilities, seniors, and students pursuing education. These programs make a real difference in people’s lives, and protecting them is the right thing to do. We never intended to negatively impact those who rely on the disability support system in Nova Scotia. The disability support system in Nova Scotia is undergoing significant changes as we implement the Remedy, which moves to an individualized funding model. This was ordered by the courts in 2021 and is a good thing, but it became clear more time was needed to ensure this transition is successful. We will take this time. We are making record investments in healthcare, infrastructure, and education. We’re investing $66 million in arts and culture this year, which is more than when we formed government. We’ll continue to invest in Nova Scotia.

@ed_thornhill @TimHoustonNS Why don't people who want to Access those things pay for them themselves? Seems like a lot of tax dollars are going to pet projects for rich people... Neptune theater? Yes... They need tax money. Pay your own way.

@tractorboyns @TimHoustonNS 1) The 1% tax cut and toll removal weren't mistakes. 2) even if they never happened, we're not close to fully funding everything. 3.) Either put a toll along every 5km of highway and every single bridge or Don't put any tolls anywhere.

@NSTreasures @TimHoustonNS Why are you a proponent of taking people's money via taxation to pay for healthcare, but not a proponent of taking people's money via taxation to pay for people to park at hospitals? Why do we pay taxes for every piece of road in NS... But 2 bridges in Halifax should have tolls?

@TimHoustonNS Parts? The whole damn thing is a mess. Completely of your own doing. Cutting hst, removing bridge tolls, removing paid parking at hospitals, near 30% hush money I mean mla pay raise. Don't take your poor accounting skills out on NS. Reverse those changes, apologize, resign.

@joshryanjames @ScriptTrooper Carney basically just steals Poilievre's ideas. He's the bluest liberal they've had in 20 years... heck he's more conservative than some of the conservatives. A Liberal majority makes the NDP fully irrelevant which is probably the best outcome for Canada.

If the Liberals win all 3 byelections, the Toronto ridings of University-Rosedale, Scarborough Southwest and the Quebec riding of Terrebonne called for April 13th, and win a slim majority. God help Canada.

@sarkonakj "It degrades the value of citizenship." Absolutely! This is because the charter of rights (of individual and minorities) supersedes the collective rights aka democracy, something Quebec has always protested and the efficient reason why it did not sign the canadian constitution.

Today's Supreme Court ruling granting subsidized daycare access to asylum seekers in Quebec is a problem. It degrades the value of citizenship. It imposes untold costs on the provinces. And it undermines sovereignty. My column: nationalpost.com/opinion/jamie-…
