@combat_muffin @docsquiddy the term "gen x" was popularized in the late 80s. "kids these days" discourse has been happening for literally centuries; terms for the newest cohort in us generations has been common since at least the late 1800s. (the 1890 periodicals were *saucy* about it.)

@docsquiddy I love how 15 years ago, "Gen [•••]" was not a topic of conversation. It was the rise of social media and other trends that began overrelying on somewhat arbitrary definitions for generations.

Even people who are addicted to drugs can pay their rent if it’s affordable. We were drug addicted 20-somethings making minimum wage. Yet we never ended up in tents. We could pay our $300 rent. Baltimore + Detroit have higher overdose rates, much lower homelessness. Low rents.
