Africa does not lack sunlight. It does not lack arable land. It does not lack entrepreneurial farmers or a new generation of clean-energy innovators. What it has lacked—until now—is a coordinated effort to bring these strengths together under a shared, investable vision. On April 10, the Consortium for Sustainable Agrivoltaics (C4SA) Foundation will launch the African Agrivoltaics Platform Initiative together with @OECD Development Centre, @JointSDGFund, and @AKADEMIYA2063. This initiative is grounded in a simple premise: Africa can lead the next generation of integrated land-use innovation—if we are prepared to assist with doing the patient, structural work required to build viable markets. Delighted to contribute to this important activity chaired by PS @olivikam @RwandaAgri. We presented findings from the Kampala CAADP Diagnostics conducted in Rwanda, assessing readiness and strategic opportunities for domesticating the Kampala Declaration. The diagnostics highlight Rwanda’s profile vis-à-vis the Kampala commitments and targets, foresight scenarios aligned with PSTA5, and policy and program pathways to accelerate implementation. Today, @AKADEMIYA2063 stands in solidarity with women and girls worldwide, calling for stronger institutions and the political will needed to dismantle barriers to equal justice. This means eliminating discriminatory laws, strengthening legal protections, and ending harmful practices that undermine their rights. Such actions are vital to accelerating progress toward gender equality in every area of life, in alignment with the @_AfricanUnion #Agenda2063. Big news! @AKADEMIYA2063 and @FondationFARM are joining forces to strengthen agricultural support systems across Africa. "At a time when constrained resources are reshaping traditional development support, we must rethink cooperation to ensure we are prepared and equipped to respond to the continent's evolving needs. Preparation requires strong institutional infrastructure, robust capacities, and effective systems, and this partnership provides a practical platform to advance that agenda" — Dr. @DebisiAraba, Managing Director, @AKADEMIYA2063. On this Africa Day of School Feeding, @MaMoPanel joins @_AfricanUnion and stakeholders across the continent to recognize Africa’s progress in expanding school feeding programs. Evidence shows that school feeding boosts enrollment and improves health and nutrition, offering strong incentive to scale programs while sharing data, evidence, and best practices continent-wide. - More on how Ghana is combining production and nutrition-sensitive policy interventions to deploy school feeding initiatives: shorturl.at/2IMOS - Recipes for Success from Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, and Malawi: shorturl.at/nCdnY #ADSF2026

𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗙𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴: 𝗔 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮’𝘀 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲! On this 11th Africa Day of School Feeding, @AKADEMIYA2063 joins @_AfricanUnion and stakeholders across Africa to highlight school feeding as a strategic investment in human capital—a key driver of Africa’s development ambitions. School feeding programs are a vital safety net with the power to advance cross-cutting policy goals, aligned with #Agenda2063, the #SDGs, and the @_AfricanUnion 2026 theme on sustainable water and sanitation. Our research shows that linking nutrition to local food systems improves children’s health, boosts school enrollment, strengthens rural livelihoods, and builds resilient food systems. The 17th edition of the #ATOR highlights the critical role of public investment, regional cooperation &partnerships with the private sector, producer organizations, research institutions & development partners. Strong agricultural research & development systems, coherent seed & regulatory frameworks, empowered producer organizations & robust data & accountability mechanisms are indispensable for translating innovation into broad-based impact. In this regard, the report reinforces the centrality of @AUC_CAADP as Africa’s flagship framework for aligning policy, investment & accountability around a shared continental vision. #ATOR2025 Foreword by H.E. @MosesVilakati & @DrOBadiane: resakss.org/sites/default/…

As the global community convenes today in #NewDelhi for the World Sustainable Development Summit (#WSDS2026 @teriin), there is a critical opportunity to take stock of global climate action and sharpen the path forward. The @_AfricanUnion Climate Change and Resilient Development Strategy and Action Plan underscores the urgency of strengthening Africa’s capacity to mobilize resources and expand access to, and development of, climate technologies to drive ambitious action. Unlocking climate resilience finance will require harmonized responses, stronger institutions, and innovative financing instruments. Official development assistance is shrinking, geopolitical alliances are shifting. How can trade become a powerful lever for a new era of collaboration between Africa & Europe? In this piece, H.E. @MosesVilakati, @MathiasMogge, & @DebisiAraba advocate for a forward-looking Africa-Germany partnership nested within a broader Africa-EU vision & the @AfCFTA. @_AfricanUnion @AU_DARBE @Welthungerhilfe @AKADEMIYA2063 Full piece: akademiya2063.org/blog-post.php?…

At the 39th Ordinary Session of the @_AfricanUnion Assembly of Heads of State & Government, leaders underscored the importance of coordinated African positions to advance continental priorities — from sustainable development financing & debt restructuring to climate action, food security & digital transformation. As African countries embark on phase 3 of @AUC_CAADP, a central question emerges: What has driven Africa’s progress in transforming its agrifood systems & what do these lessons mean for the #KampalaAgenda? @AKADEMIYA2063’s @LButake & @DrOBadiane draw on evidence from @MaMoPanel’s documented success stories across the continent to reflect on the policy choices, institutional reforms & investments that have delivered measurable impact. Africa’s agri-R&D is shifting. Public institutions still lead investments, but the private sector, e.g., agribusinesses, seed & agrochemical firms & start-ups, is increasingly contributing, as observed in #Kenya, #Nigeria & #SouthAfrica. For example, Pannar Seed (South Africa) tests hybrid seeds across multiple agroecological zones, illustrating how private initiatives are shaping innovation in Africa’s agriculture. @ReSAKSS #ATOR2025 [Chap. 12]: shorturl.at/MxSaD
