My reaction to Keir Starmer's last ditch press conference - an unsurprising reaction but possibly a helpful one (at least to those who, like me, consider him an abysmal PM). Like many, I approached Keir Starmer's prime ministership with deep-seated pessimism, my expectations already set at rock bottom. Yet, I confess: I failed to foresee the clinical precision with which he and his inner cabal would sabotage their own administration and scar Britain. The crux of their debacle lay, first, in a distinctly dictatorial, authoritarian reflex. And second—crucially—in a seething contempt for those who lent them their votes, while simultaneously performing a grotesque pantomime of flattery toward those who never would, and never will, support them. Having exorcised from the Labour Party its most authentic voices—people of unimpeachable integrity, such as Ken Loach and Jeremy Corbyn, a purge that eluded even Tony Blair’s repertoire—Starmer embarked on a rampage: He slashed disability benefits; armed and fed intelligence to the Israeli government as it executed genocide in Gaza; channeled his own inner Farage, perhaps his inner Enoch Powell, to vilify migrants and treat refugees as vermin; gutted international aid to masquerade as a defender of defence spending; bulldozed wildlife and their habitats; unveiled a new lexicon of draconian anti-protest laws; left trans people suspended in legal limbo; clung with religious fervour to absurd, socially ruinous fiscal rules; allowed Rachel Reeves to squander £100 billion covering the Bank of England’s outrageous and wholly unnecessary Quantitative Tightening losses—a gift that keeps giving to the City’s banks—while imposing yet another round of austerity on government departments and public services. Once the great hope of the downtrodden, Starmer’s Labour has become the villain - the genuinely nasty party. Once a human rights lawyer, he has single-handedly plunged Britain into a shoddy, incompetent authoritarianism. theguardian.com/politics/2026/…

Right wing pro-Israel campaigners, including Robert Jenrick MP, appear to be on a mission to have photographer @misanharriman sacked as chair of the @southbankcentre . The reason? His strong pro-Palestinan, anti-Genocide, anti-Reform views. His words are being egregiously misrepresented and weaponised against him. The Telegraph, Heidi Bachram et el should delete their posts & apologise immediately:

@SpeechUnion Keffiyeh may be a symbol of Palestinian nationalism but it has nothing to do with race (what’s a “Palestinian race”?) or religion. One thing when this sort of language is used by activists, but when it comes from a university that knows well it will be covered by the press… 😳

Statement concerning the case of Brodie Mitchell: Mr Mitchell and Royal Holloway, University of London (RHUL), can confirm that the dispute between them has been settled without any admission of liability and on terms which allow Mr Mitchell to participate in his studies and other activities within the university. RHUL condemns all forms of bullying and harassment, including discrimination on grounds of race and belief. RHUL's student conduct regulations exist to address unacceptable behaviour and to ensure an inclusive and safe campus experience for all students. RHUL’s position has been, and remains that, this case concerns conduct and the appropriate application of our regulations, not freedom of speech. However, RHUL recognises that it could have been clearer in the communication of the meaning and effect of the suspended deregistration to which Mr Mitchell was subject and regrets the length of time for which he was suspended and the distress this caused him as a result. In recognition of that, RHUL has made a payment to Mr Mitchell as a gesture of goodwill. Mr Mitchell’s position remains that his suspension by RHUL and the disciplinary proceedings initiated against him were a disproportionate interference with his right to freedom of expression. He has agreed not to pursue his claim against RHUL in order to put this matter behind him and in recognition of the terms of settlement. However, Mr Mitchell accepts, as he has since he made it, that the comment which gave rise to the disciplinary proceedings initiated against him was poorly expressed and inappropriate. He regrets making it and understands that it could cause offence. The parties look forward to drawing a line under this matter and moving forward together constructively and in a spirit of co-operation with Mr Mitchell being fully supported in his remaining time at university. Today is #YomHaShoah My GCSE history teacher took us deep into the Holocaust. It hit me hard: how recent it was, how evil people can be, and how the Jewish people are still living with the scars of that genocide. It’s an insult when activists casually steal the word “genocide” now. “Free Palestine” gets spammed under Jewish people’s posts and TikToks - even when Israel isn’t mentioned. Antisemitism still exists. Just read 📖 Dave Rich’s ‘Everyday Hate’. Blood libels, boycotts, institutional hate and it’s all happening again!! But the Jewish community? Strongest I’ve ever seen. Hostage campaign vigils in London, silent marches, then everyone singing Am Yisrael Chai and dancing after attacks like Bondi Beach. They are absolutely unbreakable. I grew up in a non-diverse Northern community, knowing zero Jews. Now I’m in the middle of it: Shabbat dinners, synagogue events, Krav Maga, Jewish parties. I’m UK Exec Secretary of Tagar UK (Betar Zionist youth). We build strong, resilient young Jews - and allies like me. Uni showed me pure Jew-hatred, not just “anti-Israel.” That hate is exactly why Israel must exist. Anyone can criticise the Israeli government. But you can never deny the Jewish people’s right to their homeland. I love Israel and I love the Jewish people ❤️ I’ll keep calling it out - left, right or religious. Antisemitism has absolutely no place. #AmYisraelChai @antisemitism @StopTheHate_UK

I don’t need protection as I’m a big girl. Pointing out an antisemitic trope from the pen of a politician leading what is about to become an officially racist party isn’t me needing help but them. Jew hatred is ruining the Greens.
Mehdi Hasan@mehdirhasan

Hilarious. She’s allowed to go after a Jewish politician via his family but if he goes after her suddenly she’s a Jewish journalist needing protection. The reason they hate @ZackPolanski is that they can’t Corbynize him because he is a Jewish politician who criticizes Israel.

David Mcintosh who worked at ‘Gaza aid sites’ posts never seen before videos and says “IDF are another level of wicked they openly fire on civilians for fun.” He also added that “These videos are of the infamous gaza aid sites and the strong willed palestinians refusing to bend the knee to fear and let their family’s starve. At the sites I managed the men/women did nothing but their best to help the people of gaza, unfortunately the IDF had sinister motives and would try and sabotage the work we would do... They freely commit war crimes with ease” His Instagram: King_david85

When I was 16 and at college, I worked part time in a pizza shop and next door to us was an Indian takeaway ran by a Pakistani family. The owner was married with EIGHT children. He had two wives neither of whom spoke English. Every night on his drive home, he'd go through the red light district in Middlesborough to either leer at, or pay for sex with prostitutes. He stole the staff list of phone numbers from the rota and would message the younger girls, including me, disgusting questions about our bodies. Did we have the same coloured hair on our vulva as we did on our head, for example. He would appear in the back of the shop randomly, grinning at us but saying nothing. Which meant we had to keep the back door closed from that point on. If you've ever worked in a pizzashop in the summer, it gets VERY hot. This was just the owner. Imagine what the rest of the staff were like? We contacted the police so many times and they did nothing. That was my first experience of Muslims and I don't have room to write about the rest of the interactions I've had of them throughout my life. So, you can stick your performative look at me crap back up your arse if you're really so blind to a sex and death cult that centres a paedophile, stones women to death for being raped and allows elderly men to marry 9 year old girls. Funny how none of your "research" has uncovered that.
Samuel Leeds@samuel_leeds

I want to share my honest thoughts on Muslims in the UK. There's a lot of talk at the moment about Islam and grooming gangs and all kinds of stuff. So this is just my opinion. I've never in my entire life of meeting hundreds, if not thousands of Muslims, met a Muslim that is not a kind, sweet, honourable person. There are crazy people in every single group, church, organisation. Wherever there are people, there's always gonna be good, there's always gonna be bad. A lot of people who talk about the Quran, The Quran says this, the Quran says that and it says, kill people. I mean, I haven't read the whole book, but I've definitely read chunks, and I've seen verses taken massively out of context. People go, “The Quran says this!” And I've actually gone and looked it up, and it's like… no, it doesn't. That's not what it says at all. I'm not a scholar, I'm Christian. But I just wanted to say I love Muslims And I think that the more we can be united, the more people at the top, the better. I believe the elites, the rich and powerful, will deliberately say things and do things to stir up hate to keep everybody arguing. When everybody's arguing, when everyone's writing, when there's no peace, we don't think straight, and then we're easy to be brainwashed, controlled and manipulated. Love to everybody, every religion, every race.

Most important point here: The IRGC is now actively embedding itself among civilians, creating the conditions for a catastrophic attack on civilian populations… Typical tactic.

I have great admiration for the Kurdish people, the liberators (together with Arab soldiers of the SDF) of Raqqa; courageous partners of my country in the fight against ISIS. I know they despise both the Islamic Republic and the Pahlavists. PLEASE do not volunteer to be cannon fodder in a war of aggression by the US/Israel, against an overwhelmingly intact IRGC. This is a desperation move by them after regime change failed. Remember how the Americans glibly abandoned you to Jolani and his Salafi Jihadists, and also abandoned the Kurdish people to Saddam in 1975 and 1991.
