This year, after a decade of doing native wildflower or herbal garden restoration in spring and summer, the last four years at this house called OMOTH (old man on the hill), and turning it into a completely wild space for pollinators and water stations and shelter for animals, I don’t need to do a pollinator garden anymore, as it comes in naturally now.
So this year, instead of just having medicine gardens, I’ve decided to put in a historical garden of plants that were used in ancient to medieval medicine, especially in monastic gardens. I have four raised wooden garden beds that stand to my waist, with little rounded covers that latch and open that I have fond names for that I’ll be using. Their stand each have custom name plates as follows :
The Prairie Smoke
The Conestoga Wagon
The Lady’s Slipper
The Ghost Pipe
So here are most common I found in old books, texts and records from old monasteries :
Sage
Rue
Hyssop
Fennel
Betony
Mint
Wormwood
Tansy
Costmary
Lovage
Elecampane
Comfrey
Valerian
Southernwood
Horehound
& Abbeys, with some overlap :
Betony
Lavender
Rosemary
Elecampane
Valerian
Yarrow
Comfrey
St. John’s Wort
Agrimony
Madonna lily
And then general medieval apothecaries :
Betony
Sage
Yarrow
Elecampane
Rue
Wormwood
Plantain
Agrimony
Mugwort
Fennel
Horehound
Elder
Meadowsweet
Centaury
Fumitory
And of these lists, I’ll be laying in Yarrow, Mugwort and Wormwood, Rue, Fennel, Thyme, Hyssop, Agrimony, Meadowsweet, Sage, Rosemary, Mint, Southernwood
And then adding in my own favorites of :
German chamomile, lemon balm, calendula and the common food herbs etc
And they will grow inside the trees and fence around them which grow honeysuckle, grape vine, sunflower, hops and 2 species of native wild roses that literally steal my beating heart when they all bloom.
I will lay in boneset and more wild bergamot and wild geranium into the ground along with the yarrow.
I will be also installing a wild life cam to watch them grow from my phone that allows me to stream music to them so I’ll be playing them some Hildegard and monastic chants after I saw how well playing music worked for the animals. :p
Wood Sorrel, creeping Charlie/ground ivy, white clover, horsetail, plantain, dandelion, nettle, cleavers, lilac flower and wild violets already grow here.
And for berries I’m so grateful to have moved into a home that someone let the wild black raspberry bushes grow.
All this to say, wish me luck!

@BottleBell Trying to introduce yarrow to my Portugese homestead 🤞
English

Anyone who has ever wanted to try Yarrow as an herb, here’s the physical pattern need that fits it :
bleeding
poor wound healing
hot, stagnant circulation
fevers that don’t break
cold extremities with internal heat
‘boggy’, inflamed tissue(s)
venous stagnation
excessive discharge or things that ‘seep’
Core action if you only remember one thing about it :
moves your peripheral circulation while toning and tightening tissues for you
Emotional pattern that fits its usage :
poor boundaries
hyper reactivity to things
absorbing too much energetically from others or situations and
feeling emotionally bruised or invaded

@PeytonElroy Maybe these women just have had many sexual partners because they were unable to be in a healthy sustainable relationship. If you're 40 and you tried with 1 partner every two years, than ofcourse you will have had many sexual partners. Don't have to be high sex drive
English

I know good hearted women who have a high body count. Having many sexual partners is not a complete connection to being a bad person, contrary to popular belief
What is real though, is that most women (dare I say all) who have a high body count do tend towards significant mental illness. Why is this?
I think there is validity to energy exchange within sex going beyond just the physical. In the way that we can absorb emotions of people just by being near them, there is no doubt we can do this when our bodies are intertwined through sex. Add DNA swapping via saliva and other means, taking on the energy of a sexual partner becomes pretty real and almost all-encompassing
I don’t think the notion of having a lot of sex is a bad thing for women. Sex is a part of our nature, and in some ways can be seen as a necessary component of life. It definitely keeps relationships alive and healthy, and men usually desire a woman who loves sex as a requirement for a longevous relationship
The issue with women having a lot of sex comes when they are spreading it out amongst too many men. The more connects with someone else’s body and energy field, the more room for damage to a woman’s psyche and emotional state
With all this considered, I think women need to understand that being highly sexual and wanting to have sex does not mean they are a “whore” and definitely does not make them a bad person. Being a bad person simply means being a bad person who is morally corrupt. And while mental instability can arise from an energy field that is influenced by many partners, it is still not guaranteed a woman with a high body count is a bad person. It does mean however, that her chances of becoming morally corrupt can increase due to that mental/emotional instability
The only real problem that arises with women and high sex drive is when sex is not limited to a single person…. and moreover not limited to a person you love, trust, and respect
While sex is primal and a basic function of life, there are many emotional and spiritual undertones to it that women, as highly sensitive beings, need to thoughtfully consider for their wellbeing 💜
