@HowellsDan @the_hough I personally wouldn’t use power to reference or define on field/court training as I think it’s to far removed from what is being delivered.

@LConnorCoaching @the_hough In theory I like it and on machines it easy. On field I see power endurance used as a reference to training, and it just starts from anything controllable Appreciate your perspective buddy!

Power endurance Is it a thing? If so, please define for me below. I’ve always been confused by it as a term…

@HowellsDan @the_hough On the flip let’s say I have a repeat power average score of 400w you could programme to hit above that for less repeat effort or below that for more depending on the adaptation and method you want.

@HowellsDan @the_hough Training can be either in relation to the test you have conducted right. Say I have a power endurance score of 250w in 12 minute test. I could train above that for less time. Or below that for longer time depending on the adaptation I am looking to achieve.

@HowellsDan @the_hough In assessment form yes, ie 6s sprint every 30s vs go for it for 12? Shouldn’t be anything left in the tank.

@the_hough @HowellsDan Different between powered endurance. And repeat power ability. One is what can you maintain in a singular prolonged effort and the other is how long can go repeating efforts without drop off with a defined rest in between. But that’s just my opinion.

@HowellsDan Good point, that’s why the term “power endurance” is too vague imo. There’s a large gap between critical power and peak power 🚴‍♀️ or MAS and max speed 🏃🏽‍♀️

We created ForceDecks Vision to make communicating force plate data and results to your patients easier than ever before. By showing patients how their movement generates these results, practitioners can better communicate what changes need to be made to deliver better outcomes.

Will you be at @footballmed in London as well this year? I’d love to share ideas and chat about football medicine, rehabilitation, physical development, screening or how the Dutch 🇳🇱 will win the next World Cup.

@DerekMHansen Recently switched from Hawkins to Vald. Auto detect feature, less stop and start to do multiple reps, easy to customize which metrics appear after test (key vs all), greater number of created tests, and outstanding customer service.

@coachblueprint1 @HowellsDan @PeteOlusoga Mine was an occasion where we were forced to player 2 games 12 hours apart. lost one in extra time and won the second. for me it was the collaboration with coach in the build up and the attitude and resilience of the players that was a result of the work we had done that season

What is something that you are incredibly proud of from your career so far? Easy to pick athletes' achievements so let's think outside the box. Mine is the Journal I've published and collaborations with @HowellsDan & @PeteOlusoga.

@DrNickCC Good thread Nick and PDF. Still surprises me how many practitioners don’t understand or consider the differences. Even strength and conditioning coaches.

@HowellsDan @Dylan_OKS @coachblueprint1 @GaryHuttSC @adamforrest1 10+ hours in a car a week does a good job at creating space to think and reflect. Once drove for 2 hours before realising the radio wasn’t even on. I also have formal processes in place external and internal to work. Plus then I have friends and colleagues to ask opinions
