@dranok4ever @techNmak Can you elaborate. I am genuinely curious. I used to always get Firefox but moved to Brave a while ago.

@techNmak I would pick just regular Chrome over Firefox. Firefox is the worst. Its a shame what happened to them. However Ladybird, once completed, will be my choice.

Someone is building a web browser from scratch. ❌ Not forking Chromium. ❌ Not using WebKit. ❌ Not borrowing from Gecko. From scratch. Here's why that's almost insane to attempt. Every browser you use today - Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Arc, Samsung Internet, runs on Chromium. Safari runs on WebKit, which is where Chromium came from. Firefox is the only independent engine left, and its market share has been declining for a decade. The browser engine is the most complex piece of software most people have never thought about. It parses HTML, runs JavaScript, implements CSS, handles cryptography, decodes images, plays video, manages memory - all at once, for every tab, while maintaining the security boundary between your machine and the internet. Building one from zero has not been done successfully in over a decade. Ladybird is doing it anyway. 1,200+ contributors. Every layer written from scratch: > LibWeb: rendering engine > LibJS: JavaScript engine > LibWasm: WebAssembly > LibCrypto/LibTLS: cryptography > LibGfx: graphics > LibMedia: audio and video Each tab runs in its own sandboxed process. Network connections and image decoding run in separate processes entirely, so a malicious webpage can't reach the rest of your system. Pre-alpha. No releases yet. 61K+ stars watching anyway. When one engine controls the web, one company decides what the web can do. That's the problem Ladybird exists to fix.

Onix is a 28-foot-long, 460-pound monster made of solid boulders. The anime treats it like an absolutely terrifying boss fight that can tunnel through mountains at 50 mph. But in the video games? Its base Attack stat is 45 To put that in perspective: • A tiny Pidgey hits exactly as hard as Onix • An Oddish literally hits harder than Onix When you use Onix, you are sending out a giant, terrifying rock snake that canonically does less physical damage than a walking radish.

@AnomolousPolicy But take that in comparison to other pokemon with no evols... Scyther or Snorlax and his base stats are significantly weaker than those 2 pokemon. And compare it to other high defense people... Cloyster and Golem and he has significantly lower base stats than those.

@Qdatbabydaddy @BatVibes Made a playthrough of Platinum with a Brock Team: Golem, Steelix, Crobat, Toxicroak, Blissey, Sudowoodo and used Bibarel as HM slave. It was a really fun run and his team was quite good while fully evolved.

Did you know Gym Leaders are intentionally holding back against you? • In Pokémon Origins, Brock asks Red how many badges he has. When Red says “zero,” Brock picks only TWO Pokémon. • The Levels: The first Gym Leader’s Pokémon are around Lv 12-15. The eighth is only Lv 45-50. You’re telling me one of the region’s strongest trainers only has mid-40s Pokémon… when the Elite Four is sitting at Lv 60+? • Larry: In Scarlet/Violet, Larry is BOTH a Gym Leader and an Elite Four member. As a Gym Leader he uses a pathetically weak Normal-type team. At the Elite Four he switches to a high-level Flying-type team. Same man. Two completely different power levels depending on his shift for the day. The game literally shows you he’s holding back. • The Confession: In Black 2 & White 2, Cheren (the first Gym Leader) straight-up says the Gym Leader job is tough because “If I had my usual partners…” - admitting he can’t use his real competitive team against new trainers. • The System: They stand in a building waiting for kids to walk in, use mono-type teams that are easy to counter. • The Real Challenge: Notice the Champion is the only fight with a full balanced multi-type team. Everything before that was staged. Every badge you earned was handed to you. The system was designed so you’d pass. You weren’t being tested - you were being trained. Does this change how you see every Gym battle?

When we were younger, one of the more popular games was "Word Chain". For those who don't know, it's a game where you say a word and the next person has to say a word that starts with the final letter of the previous word. Example: Apple - Egypt - Tennis - Sun... and so on. Normally, it would be limited to a certain category to make it a bit more challenging. Let's see if we can do it with computer games. I'll start with "Alpha Centauri". Post a game (text and pic) that comes next and let's see how far we get.

@skarlisimo @contractorkeith @kamikazecash A great advice in my opinion is to pay the equivalent of one extra monthly mortgage payment every year. That way the whole payment pays capital. You will finish paying your mortgage 5 years early and the total amount of interest saved is usually more than your investment return.

Fact: If you pay your house off it’s always paid off. Fact: if you instead put that money into stocks based on “historic data” and the market crashes, you could lose it all, or a big portion. And you would still owe on the house. I will never understand how staying in debt supersedes investment money. Pay off the mortgage then start investing that amount but be debt free. The secure feeling alone is worth it. Plus a paid for home grows in value, can be used as a rental, etc. I am far from Dave Ramsay on debt but if you’ve ever lost everything and been homeless during 2008 or another crash you might know where I am coming from, too many people only look at the last 10-15yrs of data.
Zach Melloh, CFP®@zachmelloh26

Should you pay off your mortgage early or invest instead? A couple recently faced this exact dilemma. They had $180k in cash and a $175k mortgage at 3.1%. Spouse #1: “Let’s just pay it off. I hate debt. I want the house free and clear.” Spouse #2: “No way. Why use cash to eliminate a 3% loan when we could invest it at 7% or more based on historical returns?” Both had valid points. Her math said invest it. His stress levels said pay it off. So they compromised... paid off half, invested half — improving cash flow and keeping their long-term plan on track. This decision isn’t purely financial. It’s emotional, behavioral, and personal. And that’s why this debate will never end. Have you run your numbers on this scenario? (Example is hypothetical and for illustrative purposes only)

I am 100 percent firmly convinced that a huge segment of the entertainment industry is compromised by some sort of far-reaching psyop thing because of the sheer number of idiot mediocre performers who eventually just show up being flat out morons decades later, like they were under contract to be sleeper cell brain-dead subhumans because they signed their life away. Ellen DeGeneres here is proof positive. No one that fucking replusive should have ever got a Hollywood deal.

Again?? Okay. Pokémon fell off. They got so comfortable being at the top that they stopped trying. What's even worse is that people are okay with this. -Gens 1 and 2's plot involved a crime syndicate kidnapping Pokémon and selling them on the black market. -Gen 3 involved two eco-terrorists beefing with each other for territory and risking ecological upheaval. -Gen 4 had a man striving to create a "perfect universe" by destroying the current one. -Gen 5 had a man aiming to lay claim to a region using, dare I say, fascistic tactics to install a totalitarian regime. Also in Gen 5, Colress worked with Ghetsis while rejecting his ideology. Colress wanted to draw out the full potential of Pokémon even if it causes casualties. Can you tell which Gen is my favorite? This is when it starts to fall off. -Gen 6 had a man who wanted to rid the world of what he deems ugly by activating a weapon of mass destruction. -Gen 7 had delinquents led by a guy who was upset for losing to the [best] professor. You also had a woman who sought to preserve things she "loved" against their will. -Gen 8 had a VERY preventable plot where Fake Tony Stark wanted to immediately solve a problem that wouldn't happen for another 1000 years. -Gen 9 was about helping a guy find his parents, who were already dead after a freak accident involving time travel. Sounds pretty interesting, but you have to play through the other 88% of the game that doesn't talk about this first. A pointless school plot and a pointless plot involving kids who are misunderstood. Can you tell which Gen is my most disliked? All of this to say the storytelling got bland, and the interesting parts were muddled with blandness. The gimmicks began to replace creativity as the roster additions became smaller. They began to offer less content and replace it with visuals. Powering through processing problems doesn't cut it anymore. Pokémon Violet crashed on me four separate times, more than any game I've played since Fallout 3 on PS3 back in 2010. The worst part? Pokémon's audience. This isn't an attack on the fans, mind you. This is a critique of how the corpos get away with peddling "new thing" and raking in the money. They know they can metaphorically offer low-effort microwaved burger patties as long as it has the "essence" of Pokémon on it and the fans happily will lap it up at retail price. And now we have Pokémon, but it's DQB/AC/Minecraft and doesn't commit to just Pokémon since you're a Ditto cosplaying as a human. It's extremely difficult being a fan of Pokémon. My standards for a good Pokémon game aren't high at all, but they continually fall below that bar. I'm tired, man.

I left the computer game industry in 2012 (except for a few dabbling moments). But what it sounds like is the studio suits are bringing in "experts" to be the middle managers and producers and keep the toxic old-fashioned devs under control. The experts may or may not even play the games (probably not) and so everything they say is theoretical. I mean, OBVIOUSLY, players regardless of sex would prefer to play as an attractive character, but the experts squelch that for no apparent reason. (Really I don't understand this one at all.) OBVIOUSLY players of a popular streaming shooter aren't going to bail on that game in droves for a new streaming shooter - they've built up a community. But the "experts" are saying, "Hey if Fortnite, Minecraft, and League of Legends can have a giant community, why can't we?" Ignoring the fact that it's BECAUSE they have an existing giant community that your game has a tough road to fight up. Just having better graphics won't convince anyone to switch, because they're not playing Fortnite or Minecraft for the graphics, but for the community and the fun. Plus you already screwed the pooch on the graphics by making your characters look like a horse's ass. Who cares if it's detailed? Like I said, I've not been employed in that industry since 2012 but the whole thing stinks of outside experts being brought inside to wreak havoc because the clueless studio managers are being relentlessly lied to about what gamers want.

God Empress of Mankind@nuhre_

Weren’t the devs the ones saying they didn’t need a large audience for the game to succeed? Alright then. Let’s be honest for a second. The past five years have shown a massive disconnect between devs and players. Which is ironic, considering we live in the age of social media. You’ll have 90% of players openly saying: “Hey, we’re not interested in this product. We’re not showing up for it.” And instead of listening or adjusting course, studios just double down. For what? If you already decided the audience doesn’t matter, don’t act surprised when the audience doesn’t show up.

Canada was given no prior warning about the CJNG cartel operation and El Mencho's extraction because the Trump administration and US agencies no longer trust Canada's Liberal government. Sam Cooper has repeated this many times in our 30+ recorded conversations. CJNG is operating in Canada alongside Chinese organized crime, the IRGC and Khalistani networks. There is substantive evidence linking members of the Liberal Party and their funding directly to members of China's United Front Work Department, which operates in tandem with the CCP and organized crime. On a number of occasions the RCMP have even interfered in DEA and FBI investigations into these groups, causing American agencies to question who the RCMP and Liberals are actually working for. This is what happens when an allied middle power is so obviously compromised intelligence is no longer shared with their agencies. The US had a very credible fear that the CJNG cartel and El Mencho would be tipped off before the operation they chose to keep Canada in the dark.

Minister Anand says recent violence in Mexico stems from a targeted operation against the Jalisco New Generation cartel. Canada was given no prior warning, putting thousands of its citizens at risk. Dozens of Mexican troops and cartel members have since been killed.

Is there a way to short the Netherlands? The Netherlands is launching a 36% tax on unrealized capital gains. Taxing Unrealized Gains already failed in Norway. 🇳🇴 Norway's government expected +$150m revenue from Taxing Unrealized Gains. Instead, it caused a massive $54 BILLION to flee the country, and it cost them (-$600 million) instead.
