John Terry has appeared to endorse a UK politician’s social media post that advocates for a nationwide ban on the burqa before deleting his comment. The former England captain is still involved in football and has been in an academy coaching consultancy role with Chelsea since 2021, working in a part-time capacity that involves mentoring academy players. Rupert Lowe, an independent Member of Parliament (MP) and founder of Restore Britain, a recently registered political party, uploaded a photo to Instagram that stated his intention to outlaw the garment, worn by some Muslim women, if Restore Britain was to ever form a government. Restore Britain was launched in June as a pressure group and announced in March that it was an officially registered political party. It does not hold any seats in parliament. @fartonhead @Dylzzyy It’s not controversial whatsoever. It’s arguably more controversial that we don’t have one. We are one of the few western countries with a significant Muslim population not to have a full or partial restriction on them in place. It’s a tool to oppress women.

@Chesney_1995 @Dylzzyy What’s wrong with a burqa ban? It’s a very moderate and more of a left wing position if anything given it is to support women’s rights. France and Denmark has banned the burqa completely and it’s banned in part of Spain, Germany and Italy

@Dylzzyy As far as I know the Green Party have no racist policies and aren't a far right party which is the big difference. Don't pretend to think the two things are the same.

I worry more about UK energy security, resilience, and social cohesion than I do Russia or Iran. Sectarian politics, uncontrolled immigration, crime, net zero and a poor economy are this nations most significant threats

@GarethDeanPR @WatchfulBaldMan @thinkdefence That’s impossible to say without further exploration and development. Even if it doesn’t make us completely self sufficient it would still significantly improve energy security. If there is any viable oil and gas that can be extracted then it should be.

@LRTT155 @WatchfulBaldMan @thinkdefence There’s little evidence of fracking being a good route for the U.K. Our shale is much more fractured that US and has leaked the gas out already.
The commercially recoverable volume of oil is not going to make us anywhere near self-sufficient or bring the price down.

It’s a natural reaction, even if it’s misinformed. You wouldn’t call someone a misandrist if they condemned a man for murdering someone during psychosis.

It's absolutely horrific but it's incredibly immature and doesn't actually help prevent future cases of harm by labelling what is undoubtedly post-partum psychosis as the supernatural entity of 'evil'.

@LRTT155 @BradfemlyWalsh But I think I can make the assumption that where people condemn her as a cold blooded killer regardless, are potential misogynists. And it's Twitter, not the court room. I posted about this as I saw people vilifying her as a monster without the facts, which is what I object to.

@LRTT155 @BradfemlyWalsh We don't know it's the case, nope. But if someone isn't in control of their actions, of course I would sympathise. I'm a human being. Of course the baby and the husband are the victims. And it's not murder if malice aforethought is missing.
