🎉🎈 Many happy returns to Edward “Eddie” Shipley, who has celebrated his 102nd birthday this week.
Eddie volunteered for the Royal Navy at just 18 years old and went on to serve in the Atlantic, the Arctic Convoys and the D-Day landings. His remarkable service continued in the Far East before he returned home and built a life with his family.
More than eight decades later, his contribution has been recognised with honours including Russia’s Ushakov Medal and France’s Legion d'Honneur.
Stories like Eddie’s remind us of the dedication, resilience and service of those who have served our country, and why it remains so important to support veterans and their communities today.
Please join us in wishing Eddie a very happy 102nd birthday. 🎉

They will likely serve 2/3rds plus time off for their remand period so at least 2-2 and half years for the women and 5 for Corner. The terrorism uplift means they’re going to have this shadow over them for the rest of their lives. Was it worth it.
